How has the brand evolved over the last 25 years?

The Rosa Clarà brand is constantly evolving. I opened my first store in Paseo de Gracia in Barcelona 25 years ago and, back then, I could not imagine that there would be so many brides who dreamed of wearing one of my dresses on the most important day of their life. Today, we have more than 4,000 points of sale in 80 countries and a network of 140 owned and franchise stores.

What has been the biggest challenge in the last 25 years?

The biggest challenge for me has been constant work and innovation. We are always experimenting with the latest trend or risking new designs and I think this is what has kept us relevant all these years.

What has been your favourite ever designs?

It’s difficult to choose, all of my dresses are memorable and there is always a perfect one for each bride. However, if I had to pick one, it would be the one I designed for my wedding, five years ago, a dress that has set the trend since then.

What has been your greatest achievement in the last 25 years?

There have been many! But if I had to choose one, I would say it was the opportunity to collaborate with great designers such as Christian Lacroix, Karl Lagerfeld and Jesús del Pozo. It was an unbelievable experience and it resulted in something spectacular.

What has been your greatest struggle?

To make the brand the success it is I have had to compromise on a lot of things. Mostly, I have had to give up a lot of personal time. However every minute has been worthwhile, and I have had the support and understanding of my loved ones.

What has been your favourite memory from the last 25 years?

My fondest memory over the last 25 years has to be one of the more recent ones. Back in October 2019, I had the honour to design the wedding dress of Mery Perelló, wife of the tennis player Rafael Nadal. This was a great moment for me and one I will always remember.

What have you learned over the course of your career?

I’ve learned that being surrounded by a motivated team, being realistic with your objectives and having a differentiated product are the keys to success.

Do you wish you could do any of it differently?

No, not at all! If I had to relive my life, I would live it the exact same way. I am very proud of my achievements and of what I have experienced both in my professional and personal life.

What piece of advice or quote sums up the last 25 years?

“Less is more”

What does the future hold for Rosa Clará?

The bridal fashion industry is a constant challenge because it is always changing. To keep Rosa Clará the innovative brand it is we must constantly contribute new ideas that will position us first. On top of this, we also need to grow the brand in markets we are already recognised and establish gaps in which we have potential.

I am also proud to announce that I have been able to open our first store in London. This is a project that I have always wanted to do, and for it to become a reality is just amazing.

Rosa Clará consolidates its position in the UK bridal market with the opening of a boutique in London. Read more about the news here.
