Tell us about the history of the brand.

Our moms and daughters run the show, which makes us especially keen on designing for the diversity of women searching for their perfect wedding gown. “Family-owned” is a rare modifier these days, so we’re proud to say we’ve been true to kin and collaboration since day one. With our launch in 1997, design director Lesley Margaret “Maggie” Webster assumed the alias “Maggie Sottero” in honour of her great-grandmother.

In 2006, we introduced Sottero and Midgley, a couture line for the chic and statement-making bride. The name recognizes the next-generation involvement of Lesley’s daughter, Kelly Midgley, Maggie Sottero CEO. Maggie Sottero Designs launched Rebecca Ingram in 2016, a line of classic gowns named in honour of Lesley’s grandmother.

Can you tell us about the brand’s relationship with the UK Bridal market?

We LOVE the UK bridal market! Throughout this turbulent period, we have been so inspired by the resilience and consistent heart energy of our UK stockists. Our success is their success, and vice versa. We have been dedicated to ensuring we provide the best-in-class service and support to our diverse UK bridal market.

What is the brand’s biggest secret to success?

Our goal is to make dreams a reality for every Maggie Sottero Designs bride. Each season inspires us to reflect on our work, innovate our practices, and set a fresh, forward-thinking aesthetic for our trio of collections - Maggie Sottero, Sottero and Midgley, and Rebecca Ingram. We believe a wedding gown is a beautiful reflection of a bride’s love story, style, and personality. Every Maggie Sottero dress upholds our commitment to premium construction, impeccable styling, and incomparable fit.

What are the inspirations behind the latest collections?

Maggie Sottero

This season is the epitome of femininity, with soft flowy fabrics that construct incredible movement, tonal beading from a striking palette, textured 3D elements like the layers of a Van Gogh, and delicate, artful laces that embody modern romance. Taking a note from Vermeer, opulent pearls are this season’s signature brushstroke. Our brides are the muse to our craft. Their elegance, their love story, their beauty, everything that makes them unique, serves as our catalyst for inspiration. We’re here to present an ever-marvelous canvas for their life’s biggest masterpiece, their bridal look. And, with options to personalize their wedding dress, we’re passing them the paintbrush to put the finishing touches that they’ve always dreamed of. We invite brides to divulge their artistry with Maggie Sottero.

Maggie Sottero is a diverse collection of carefully-crafted wedding gowns that promote the modern romantic’s sense of beauty and elegance and elevate quality and style. The fairytale element is extended from the gowns to the wedding, as brides are able to personalize their dresses to reflect their love story.

Sottero and Midgley

With Sottero and Midgley’s new collection, the fairytale fantasy isn’t just restricted to the realm of reverie. Find cutting-edge trends as sharp as a sword, statement ballgowns with a masterful decor of beading, sexy and slinky silhouettes with metallic accents, and intrepid laces that command a room. It’s time to bring edge and sultriness to royal radiance. Our brides are the main character of their story, and they need an extravagant, seductive wedding gown to match their boldness. With personalization options galore, their wedding dress will perfectly match their regality. Brides can start their reign with Sottero and Midgley.

The Sottero and Midgley label is the embodiment of affordable luxury for the chic bride that wants a one-of-a-kind statement. Each collection is composed of striking designs, elevated styling, rich fabrics, and the ability to customize gowns - ensuring that each bride’s wedding dress is as unique as they are.

Rebecca Ingram

This season, Rebecca Ingram is full of delightful ease; from the gowns themselves with opulent fabrics, simple and sophisticated designs, alluring slits and lines, and enticing, chic exposed boning, to the experience of trying on the gown and brides knowing they’ve found the one. Unabashed, understated glamour is often the most breathtaking, and this season proves it, over and over. No fuss, no frazzle, just falling in love all over again. Brides can enjoy effortlessness with Rebecca Ingram.

Rebecca Ingram is the perfect convergence of style and affordability, without a compromise on quality. For the free-spirited, budget-savvy bride, this label injects the simplicity of timeless beauty into value-driven designs, resulting in magic only matched by finding your true love.
