Picking something for the bridesmaids is easy-peasy. But finding something for the chaps in the wedding party is much tougher. That’s why this new concept will, we believe, go down a treat
Boutonnière of London offers grooms and their groomsmen a unique and individual handmade porcelain buttonhole, designed not only to complement their outfits on their wedding day, but also as a special keepsake to be appreciated and worn afterwards, whether to dinner, the races or even as a chic daily accessory.
The buttonholes are based on a beautiful camellia from the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, with the flower being handmade in Italy to a bespoke design from fine capodimonte porcelain. Each piece exhibits fine detailing on the petals and the collection is available in classic ivory (the natural porcelain colour) or blush pink.
The clasp on the back of the flower, which is also an exclusive by Boutonniere, is designed to hold the lapel firmly without piercing the fabric, but is also discreet enough so that only the flower can be seen when worn. The clasp, handmade in Sheffield by a company of cutlers, is available in either a highly-polished stainless steel or 925 sterling silver and each Boutonniere is packaged in an individual presentation box, making it the perfect gift.
Boutonnière of London was established in 2013 by Christopher Harrap, a Yorkshireman-turned-Londoner who left the corporate world to develop his idea – one he knew would be a winner. With a passion for design, tailoring and craftsmanship, he sourced the finest materials and the artisans who could interpret his vision; the components parts are handmade in Italy and Sheffield, before being assembled and finished in London.
Christopher said: ‘“The collection offers something a touch different for the whole wedding party. We have worked hard to create a buttonhole that is designed to be a perfect keepsake. We offer a full engraving service to make the gift more personal, which is popular with clients, who have the back of the clasp engraved with the wedding date, their initials or even a personal message for each person. It can also make a perfect wedding day gift from the bride to her husband-to-be that is chic, original and special.”
Got to be worth stocking - for bridal shops as well as mens formalwear suppliers.
