European Bridal Week, staged last weekend, showcased more than 200 collections, including some terrific mens formalwear collections.
The recent European Bridal Week in Essen introduced some interesting new looks in menswear that will be of particular appeal to grooms in northern Europe where tastes are distinctly different to those in the UK.
The Amadeo 1756 label, a brand that cleverly bolsters it appeal by concentrating on the mood of the moment rather than focusing on setting trends showed - alongside the narrow silhouettes with jackets cropped to the body - more generous cuts catering to larger sizes and different tastes, offering a virtual customised service. Brown here, was a leading colour.
The range from Carlo Pignatelli made a strong statement. This long-established Italian house is known for its cut, finish and detailing – elegance is its byword -with classic tailoring translated into modernistic silhouettes for formalwear that is confident and self-assured. The latest lines are cropped close to the body, immaculate in their make, and teamed with chic accessories such as wonderful waistcoats in rich fabrics. The latest collection features a powerful colour palette, with bold interpretations of classic shadings and adventurous new tones for the fashion-conscious man. Best of all is the mix of textures and patterning with same-shade plains.
