Abigail’s Collection & The Groom’s Room hosted their annual ‘Wear Your Wedding Dress Again’ party at Prested Hall in Feering, Colchester, on 12th November.

The event, which raised an incredible £4,200 for Help for Heroes, was sponsored by several Essex-based wedding businesses and was attended by over 100 brides.

Highlights of the party – other than seeing 100+ brides all glammed up in their wedding finery – included stilt-walkers and a 1940s harmony trio called The Bombshells from Halo Entertainment, magic by Alan Nunn Magic and more music by The Hotshots.

“Everyone looked absolutely amazing,” reveals owner of Abigail’s Collection & The Groom’s Room, Abi Neill, “and the brides that came along really wanted to party! Dreamwave Events kept the dancefloor packed with some fantastic tunes and our two bands, The Hotshots and The Bombshells, were sensational.

“The atmosphere was superb, Prested Hall was absolutely fabulous, and it was such an excellent charity effort and a huge success!”

Guests enjoyed cupcakes from Luca’s and were served treats and prosecco by a duo of Butlers in the Buff. They could also participate in a raffle sponsored by local businesses and pose for pictures in the Aurora Pearl photo booth.

For those who dared, there was a bucking bronco supplied by Bags of Fun and a candy cart supplied by Candy Cart Wheel.

The funds raised by this amazing event will go towards Chavasse VC House in Colchester, which is one of four Help for Heroes Recovery Centres.

Abi explained why the Colchester-based boutique decided to organise the event: “It’s a chance for us to give something back; to our brides, to our community and most importantly to the military personnel who need help and support after being wounded in service.

“Our brides just love the chance to wear their dresses again and in 2013 having decided that I wanted to do some charity work for Help For Heroes I realised I should combine the two and we decided that a wedding dress themed charity party was needed.

“The first and the second we held were brilliant but this one was awesome, it surpassed our expectations! We are so thrilled to have raised £4200 for the recovery centre Chavasse VC House.”
