A key trend to emerge from Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week was capes. Some of the leading names in bridal such as Demetrios, Maggie Sottero and Pronovias featured this trend in their catwalk shows.

Capes were first introduced on the catwalk a few years ago but this season's collections prove that they are back better than ever. Offering a glamorous addition to the simple silhouette, this trend is perfect for brides who want to make a statement look.

A new trend to emerge from the catwalks at Barcelona Fashion Week was ruffles. Predicted as the ‘it’ trend for 2019, many designers including Pronovias, The Atelier and Marchesa incorporated this in their latest collections.

Pronovias and The Atelier both showcased gowns with dramatic ruffles for maximum impact whereas Marchesa opted for a more subtle approach.

Bows were also prominent this season, with many brands being playful and creative with the trend. Jesus Peiro, Pronovias and Marchesa were among those who stunned on the runway with their designs.

Pronovias and Jesus Peiro showcased gowns with bows on the waist while Marchesa revealed a spectacular gown with a soft bow hanging off the shoulder.

Dramatic Sleeves

Dramatic Sleeves

Dramatic sleeves have been an upcoming trend for some time now but this season saw the trend in all its glory. BEBA’S, Jesus Peiro and Demetrios all had different takes with BEBA’S featuring a remarkable low cut gown with ruffles sleeves, creating a sultry yet elegant look.

Jesus Peiro were dramatic in their approach with an ’80s inspired puffed sleeve gown. Demetrios’ fashion show showcased several gowns with dramatic sleeves but a standout gown was an off the shoulder design that was stylish and graceful.

While at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week we caught up with Hervé Moreau the Artistic Director behind Pronovias. Find out the latest from the successful bridal brand here.
