Ahead of White Gallery 2018, we catch up with Welsh bridal label Amy Mair Couture
This will be my second year at White Gallery. I was first there as a new talent and was in awe of the quality and creativity there. I think that experience and knowing what to expect this time will make it less overwhelming and more rewarding for me. The Amy Mair Couture headquarters are based in Wales, we are a Welsh label but are proud to be ‘Made in Britain’ also. There aren’t as many opportunities to showcase your designs to potential stockists, and get recognition for new innovative designs, in comparison to being situated in London, so White Gallery allows me to put the designs in front of many desirable buyers, press, bloggers and more.
I will be showcasing very innovative designs that feature relaxed, elegant and effortless bridal (which I believe is what brides are looking for at the moment) along with pieces that have a ‘punch’ involving textured fabrics, and sculpturing silhouettes with a glamorous and daring edge! Our embroideries were very well received for being different from everything else at the show last year, so we have a new embroidery in production in Madrid that we have been developing for the show.
Yes. I will be showcasing the new Amy Mair Couture Collection exclusively and I hope to have many viewers. Whether the buyers want to simply have a browse with a no obligation appointment, or more, we are on hand to help. We are very competitive and are offering a minimum order of three for any new buyers - we will also have a special offer for a large order over the period of the show.
This will be my biggest collection to date, I have many designs that absolutely need to be produced and many more that will organically develop as we start making, so I would say it could be from 10-16 pieces. There will be a couple that we introduced last year as they are part of the same design story.
