Five Minutes With Charlotte Balbier

We caught up with bridal brand Charlotte Balbier to ask what we could expect to see from them at The Harrogate Bridal Show – here’s what they had to say.

What’s new with the brand since we last caught up with you?

Charlotte Balbier was acquired by The L J Group in April 2017 and since then we have spent the last two years developing the construction and fit of the gowns whilst exploring fabrics and patterns. Lots of love and laughter has gone into our latest collection and we hope this shines through the gowns.

In the last six months, our creative team has almost doubled in size and as a result, our production and design teams are thrilled with the progress of our collection.

Our brides are full of passion and personality and they love to show this through their clothing. Textures, colours and movement are all key aspects to a Charlotte gown with a timeless cut being at the heart of every piece.

Can you tell us more about the collection you’ll have on display at the show?

Our new 2020 collection boasts delicate Ethereal styles and was designed to suit all body types. We have sourced unique fabrics from all across the UK to enhance the shapes of our designs and have also listened to the feedback from our stockists.

By doing so, we believe we have created a unique collection that our brides will love. One of our favourite designs is the floral beauty ‘Lullaby. This gown was designed to catch everyone’s eye with its beautiful colours and exotic embroidery.

We will be showcasing 30 gowns at The Harrogate Bridal Show plus a pre-spring/summer capsule collection which will consist of bridal gowns, accessories and veils.

Why is attending The Harrogate Bridal Show important for your brand?

Feedback! That’s the most important part of the show for us. We adore showcasing our collection but the opportunity to catch up with our boutiques and listen to their thoughts is priceless to us as a group.

Do you have any tips for buyers on how to spend their time at Harrogate?

Plan, plan and plan! Use your time wisely but leave a little time to wander and be open to looking at new collections. Never be afraid to pop on someone’s stand and just browse through. You never know, you may just find your next big designer.

The Harrogate Bridal Show is the perfect opportunity to be inspired! A few hours walking around the halls may just allow you to stumble across some gems for your 2021 collections. Our favourite kind of boutiques don’t follow the crowd so let your heart lead you to designs that grab your attention. If a gown makes your heart sing, the chances are it’ll capture your brides too.

Charlotte Balbier will be exhibiting at The Harrogate Bridal Show this year on Stand Q2. Make sure you register for the event here so you don’t miss out.
