If you missed Ronald Joyce at London Bridal Fashion Week this year watch all the highlights from their fashion show here.
Ronald Joyce started life as a small London store in the 1950s. It has flourished over the years and has made its mark as a prestigious British brand offering Bridal, Bridesmaids and Mother of the Bride dresses all over the UK and Europe. I’ve now been designing for Ronald Joyce for over 20 years.
I think it would have to be our ball gown and fishtail lace dresses. I really focus on the detail of the dress when designing. I use more tone on tone beading and fewer silver beads which has become a much larger request from my customers.
I think this also gives the gown a more couture look which is what brides want. I want my brides to feel like a million dollars. When I’m designing my dresses, I also try to think about what would look great on a variety of brides with different figures which I think is why the collection is so successful.

I did a lot of designer days. I remember being in Ireland and when I listened to the requests of these brides nobody really wanted veils anymore. They were all asking for capes or something a little bit more modern and unique.
I try to pair that with a style that could suit brides of different shapes and sizes to ensure there is something for everyone. This is the first year we have included a fuller figured bride as a model for our collection and I think this really helps brides envision what the dress would look like on themselves.
Our most popular styles from the Spring 2019 collection were 69415 (Carlotta) a beautiful lace fishtail gown with halter-neckline and plunging cut-out on the bust and 69417 (Carolina) another lace fishtail design with an illusion back.
In the Victoria Jane Collection it was 18312 (Idalina) and A-line net ballgown with bateau neckline and 18308 (Ilesha) a chiffon sheath gown with an illusion neckline.
Looking to the new Autumn/Winter Collection which is in stores in July we are predicting 69466 Cora a duchess satin A-line gown with plunging beaded bodice and 69475 Clelia a traditional A-line lace gown with illusion neckline to be big hits.

We do offer our retailers designer weekends where they can borrow our gowns along with promotional materials for special events in store. We help by advertising these events on our website and social media pages. As mentioned, I’ve been to a few of these events myself and I love helping brides-to-be to pick their dress.
They can also borrow gowns for wedding fairs or as a sample loan of a specific dress a bride has requested to try on which they don’t stock. We regularly send out things like point of sale cards, brochures and leaflets.
I’m working on the designs now and the final section will not be completed until July.
Seeing our customers and helping them to select their favourite designs from my brand new collection.
It’s always so busy. There is a buzz with all of our customers who usually come up and stay for a few days and we see them at the show and then all end up in the same restaurants and bars in the evenings.

This year I’m designing my daughter’s wedding dress which of course I am incredibly excited about. We literally used to talk about it everywhere and all the time. I even started sketching her dress the evening the engagement was announced.
The Idalah dress (18305) from Victoria Jane and Carlotta (69415) from Ronald Joyce. I love fishtail and lace and also love the halter neck look. It’s so elegant and sophisticated with a modern twist but is also in keeping with some of the traditions of a wedding dress.
I’ve always said J-Lo. I think she has the perfect figure and I love what she wears.
Ronald Joyce will be exhibiting at The Harrogate Bridal Show 2019 and you can find them in Hall M, Stand M19.
