Christie Couture Set to Exhibit at London Bridal Week
We caught up with Lesley of Christie Couture to see how they are post-Harrogate and what their plan for London Bridal Week is
Having already had a lovely chat with Lesley from Christie Couture at The Harrogate Bridal Show (and you can watch that interview here), we couldn’t pass up the chance for another catch up to find out what their plan is for London Bridal Week.
"Christie Couture started with Spanish designer, Pepe Botella, a beautiful collection of high-end couture gowns. The reason I decided to design my own collection was due to necessity really.
"Bridal is so regional in tastes and styles and this can be within an area of just a few miles! Much as I love the Spanish styles, for some of my brides, the styles could be too fussy. I had, however, become used to the high quality of Pepe’s designs and was adamant that this would be achieved with my own collection.
"I designed and commissioned my first Christie Couture Collection with the aim of targeting a mid-price range of £1400 - £1600 and the success of the first collection was overwhelming. The quality of design, cut and material at our set price range proved to be a real winning combination in the boutique.
"As a result, I developed and grew the Christie Couture Collection, this is now the main seller in the boutique and I have sold over fifty dresses in the last year. The brides who shop with me tend to be professional women between twenty-five and over, who want the wow factor with class and elegance.
"As well as continuing to build the retail side of Christie Couture, I selected twelve of the bestselling gowns. The aim was to offer this collection to other bridal boutiques.
"Being a retailer, I was aware of minimal buying numbers and year on year obligations. This can be expensive and a daunting and as such, I am happy for retailers to choose just how many dresses they want with no minimal orders.
"I would rather provide a stunning collection with flexibility to stock.
"I am really looking forward to attending the London Bridal Week and showcasing the Christie Couture Collection and will be located on stand D32. I’ve had great positive feedback regarding the collection and invite all potential boutique owners to come and see the collection in person. I hope not to disappoint."
