Royal Ascot has taken place at the Ascot race course since 1711, and this year’s event takes place from 20th-24 June. Internationally known, Royal Ascot attracts around 80,000 guests per day - something your store could use to advantage!

To this day, the prescribed dress code has to be observed otherwise admission won’t be allowed. Ladies should wear a suitable summer dress, while gentlemen are required to wear a morning coat. Ladies should note that the dress or skirt should not show the knee, and a hat or modern fascinator is a must.

The morning coat is the evening tailcoat of the day - it’s suitable for occasions from morning to 3.00 p.m. For a traditional look, the morning coat is combined with striped trousers and a grey waistcoat with white standard collar shirt and grey neckerchief.

Alternatively, a colourful waistcoat may be combined, and the style can be updated with fashionable variations such as a blue morning coat with grey waistcoat. While a bowtie should not be worn, the outfit can be finished off with a grey top hat.
