What made you decide to open a bridal boutique?

I’ve always had a love for fashion and helping people look and feel confident so that’s why I wanted to open a bridal boutique that was fashion forward with genuine, down to earth and approachable staff.

Had you had any experience in the bridal industry before opening your boutique?

No, I didn’t have any experience in the bridal industry prior to opening my boutique but after shopping for my own wedding dress some 17 years ago, I knew I wanted to have a boutique of my own someday.

What have you found most enjoyable about starting your boutique?

The first few years were a massive learning curve but it has always been all about the bride. The most enjoyable part for me is being a part of their bridal journey and seeing the bride look beautiful and confident in her wedding photographs.

What has been the most challenging part?

The most challenging part definitely has to be that there aren’t enough hours in the day! We are very blessed at Dress Me Pretty that we are always busy, but of course, this means that I have a never-ending ‘To Do’ list.

How did you decide on the location of your boutique?

My first boutique almost landed on my lap and I’m a huge believer in fate, however, the new boutique took some work. I moved into a bigger and better boutique just a few doors down, and there was no standing still on it - from buying the property just six months ago, we gutted it completely and started again. It has been a busy but exciting time, and I hope that brides in the area will love it just as much as I do.

How did you decide what it would look like?

When designing the new boutique I kept in mind what I wanted the overall brand to look like. I was really passionate about creating a bridal boutique that was both luxurious and on trend. I took the floral and geometrics from the new logo and implemented them everywhere I could without going overboard.

Where do you see your business in five years’ time?

I hope that in five years’ time we’ll still be providing an amazing service where every bride is made to feel welcome, listened to and valued. I would like my business to grow to suit our customers and always keep up to date and on trend.

Over the past few years, we have become the most popular bridal boutique in the area, and I won’t lose sight of the fabulous experience that brides expect and deserve from a boutique like this. My team and I look forward to delivering the Dress Me Pretty experience to many more brides over the next few years. It’s amazing to have such support from other local businesses, too.
