Can you talk us through the latest collection?

Our 2020 collection reflects our new brand identity. As we look to modernise the brand, we’ve taken inspiration from the likes of Jimmy Choo and Aquazzura to develop new lasts and heel heights which all have a role to play in our new look.

We’ve designed and created a new sleek court shoe with a stylish slim heel available in two heel heights of 7cm and 10cm, alongside a stylish platform sandal – helping to capture the attention of the millennial bride who wants to make a statement on her wedding day.

This season sees the introduction of new fabrics, embellishments and finishing touches. We continue to innovate with our shimmer portfolio. Reflecting customer demand for texture and decoration, new Coco and Madeline styles incorporate Italian Snow Glitter.

Building on the success of our shoe clips, our embellishments are bolder. Filippa and Giovanna feature brooch detailing, drawing inspiration from heirloom jewellery. Whilst new Nelly features an oversized butterfly embellishment, all which have been created exclusively for the brand.

A favourite amongst the team is the new iridescent parquet detail on Bambi, Rochelle and Nattie. This architectural, geometric detail is perfect for brides who want to look stylish and make a statement without looking overtly girly.

What’s different this year?

We’re rolling out a new brand identity for the 2020 bridal season. We’ve evolved so that every touchpoint is consistent and aspirational. This is part of our continual commitment to appeal to the modern, stylish bride and to be the footwear brand of choice for the UK’s leading bridal and special occasion retailers. Our design team are constantly looking into new ways of developing our product.

Following the success of our recent collaborations with John Lewis and Ivory & Co., we’re going to be introducing more Limited-Edition styles. We’ll be launching new product seasonally, starting with our AW19 party collection featuring a new Glitter Bomb fabric in our new lasts and heel heights.

Going forward, we’ll be working with guest designers on our main line and limited-edition collections.

What bridal shoe trends are you seeing this year?

With the 2020 bridal catwalks showcasing Hollywood glamour, after-party mini-dresses, bridal blazers and high-low hemlines, we expect to see a variety of shoe trends coming through this season. For short hemlines, brides may opt for bolder, more statement footwear whether that’s colour accents or embellished details. We expect to see sleek silhouettes and higher heels teamed with Hollywood inspired dresses, taking note from the ever-popular royal brides we’ve seen in the past two years.

Can you talk us through your relationship with stockists?

We’re always looking at new ways in which to support our stockists - promoting our business and driving visibility and sales through to them. We value their feedback and recommendations; after speaking to our current stockists, we noticed a demand for an online function where they can log in to check stock levels and place orders – especially during the weekends when our offices are closed.

Accordingly, we will be launching a workbook this summer, allowing retailers to log into their accounts through our website to check stock, place orders and download our latest imagery. We’re also launching a Click and Collect facility for our premium stockists, whereby brides can order shoes from our website and have them delivered to a local stockist, who in turn earns a commission – driving local brides to our retailers.

What are you bringing to Harrogate this year?

We’ll be showcasing our new 2020 collection at Harrogate this September including bridal footwear, flower girl and communion shoes, shoe clips, handbags and veils. We will also be showing examples of our Colour Customisation service, whereby customers can have their chosen pair of Rainbow Club footwear or a handbag dyed to any colour completely free of charge.

Why should retailers visit shoe brands at bridal trade shows such as The Harrogate Bridal Show?

Our shoe designs are of course designed to accessorise the gorgeous wedding dresses on display at the show, so it makes sense to include Rainbow Club in the buying plan at Harrogate. We can also be seen on the catwalk shows, allowing retailers to advise brides on what style and shape of shoe works well with the dresses they have on sale.

Additionally, it’s a great way to preview the new Rainbow Club branding and collections in a creative and inspiring ‘retail’ environment.

Rainbow Club will be exhibiting at The Harrogate Bridal Show 2019 at Stand M42. Register for the event here so you don’t miss out.
