Modern grooms are paying more and more attention to what they wear on their big day; they want to look just as good as their brides. One brand who manages to stay ahead of the trends in men’s fashion is Cameron Ross Formal Hire - so we caught up with the brand to see what they’ve got in store and what’s been popular for them recently.

If you plan to browse bridal trends at Harrogate, check out our interview with Enzoani ahead of the show.

The brand began life in 2007, and now has over 250 retailers - all of which have access to its full collection. “We understand just how important it is for the happy couple to achieve the perfect look on their wedding day,” says the company’s David Clark.

“That’s why each of our stockists have access to 20 fully-trained hire specialists working across customer service, stock control, online, logistics, and marketing and business development. Our team is available five days a week (six in season, with extended opening hours!) and no query is too small – we are always happy to help. Our stockists are much more than just a number to us. We are partners – and that matters.”

The company is a great British brand and looks to support home grown industry wherever possible. With this ethos in mind, much of the fabric used in Cameron Ross garments is sourced here in the UK.

“We’ve always been keen to support suppliers in the UK and the heritage that is associated with fabric production in the UK is incredibly appealing,” explains David. “Yorkshire is synonymous with cloth production and we’ve been dealing with mills there for over 20 years now. The quality is second to none and we find people in the UK do want to support UK-based manufacture.”

David tells us that, over the past few seasons, many modern grooms have been looking for slim fit suits and tweed; “It was only a matter of time before customers started to veer back to looking at more traditional garments, such as the classic tailcoat. Hey, if it’s good enough for David Beckham at the Royal wedding!”

Another popular comeback is waistcoats - and with this summer’s Gareth Southgate effect, this trend is not going anywhere.

Waistcoats in simple shades to match the bridal party are ever popular, but we are seeing an emergence in bolder, brighter looks too, and this is something Cameron Ross has been finding popular.

“The new pale blue single and double-breasted waistcoats are a contemporary update to the ever popular dove grey. With their sophisticated look, they are a welcome addition to our range and they complement our contemporary slim fit and classic tailcoats beautifully.

“Available in sizes 34" to 60", these are perfect for when the occasion calls for something just that bit classier. Using the iconic Liberty Fabrics and their colourful designs, we’ve got ties and hankies in three distinctive patterns (blue floral, sage floral and pink floral). Available in adults and boys, these are sure to be a popular choice for the discerning groom.”

The Harrogate Bridal Show isn’t only a great place to spot current fashion trends, but it’s also a fantastic place to catch up with friends and meet new people. Here are the top networking spots at the event.

Over the past few months Cameron Ross has been busy preparing for The Harrogate Bridal Show, where it is a regular exhibitor. “This is probably our 11th year at Harrogate, and we’d never miss it!” says David. “We have a regular, large presence at the Harrogate Bridal Show which not only affords us an opportunity to catch up with existing stockists, but also provides us with a chance to increase the awareness of our brand and attract new audiences with our excellent formal hire offering.”

In terms of what the brand will show, there will be a range of formal, Highland and eveningwear, with approximately 10 different outfits from each of the ranges. David also tells us that there “absolutely will” be some special offers on at the show… but he keeps the details close to his chest, so you’ll have to pop along to see them on stand M13 to find out exactly what they are!

Whilst you’re in Harrogate, make the most of your trip and check out the best places to visit in this stunning spa town.
