Can you give us a brief background of the brand?

Ivory & Co was established by Alex Longhi and Sarah Bussey when the pair realised they both had a passion for bridal design whilst studying at the renowned Goldsmiths college at the University of London.

Almost two decades later, the bridal brand is now an award-wining design house and globally recognised. However, it has still remained true to their passion and ethos of meticulous design, quality and customer service.

Inspired by changing demands within the bridal industry and fashion trends, Sarah and Alex are passionate about providing pure quality with their silk designer gown collections and luxury award-winning headpieces and bridal jewellery.

Investment in production methods and a move in 2012 has allowed the brand to bloom and provide brides with exceptional service in a stunning flagship showroom.

Onsite, Sarah and our talented team work together in our administrative offices and design studio to create superb designs to meet the needs of today’s brides. They also work closely with their stockists to ensure brides who visit one of these top bridal boutiques have the same bespoke options as in their own showroom.

Can you tell us five interesting facts about the brand?

  • By offering our range of exquisite bridal accessories alongside or exclusively designed dresses we are proud to be able to offer the whole head to toe designer experience.
  • We offer stockists the opportunity of training days or chances to view and chat through our newest collections and designs.
  • We offer an exclusive and bespoke service, as our designer Sarah is in-house at all times.
  • We have no minimum orders on our accessories and the majority of our orders are sent out the same day.
  • Ivory & Co accessories have become proud stockists in leading retailer John Lewis.

What are the brand’s secrets to success?

The brand’s secrets to success are in the designs. We are keen to design collections that are up-to-date with the latest bridal trends whilst staying true to our passion for exquisite timeless classics. In addition, we rarely discontinue items which means they are available year on year and you can reorder designs that work well in your boutique.

With all our dresses being designed in house by our very own Sarah Bussey, our stockists have the opportunity to offer exclusive versions of our gowns. Finally, our accessories come in luxury Ivory & Co packaging as standard, making it the perfect finishing touch.

Can you talk us through the design process of a new collection?

Sarah designs every gown with love and care. From personally sourcing the finest natural silks and exquisite lace to checking over the final gown to ensure perfection, she is involved in every aspect of the design process.

All of our designs are born from Sarah’s imagination and are then transformed into beautiful gowns. She will begin the design process by sketching some ideas, followed by pinning swatches of possible fabrics which will then take shape and come together in our showroom.

Can you tell us the inspiration behind the latest collection?

Our latest collection is called ‘Wild At Heart’ and once again, is designed solely by Sarah. It has a great emphasis on comfort, fresh styling and timeless silhouettes. Many of the gowns feature soft, deconstructed patterns for sheer comfort while others provide amazing support and corsetry for enhanced body shape and confidence. With all our dresses designed using only the most beautiful silks and exquisite lace, we pride ourselves on offering dresses that extend the most relaxed luxury feel.

For the latest Ivory & Co accessory collection, we are centred on a more relaxed, floral theme. Pearls and gold feature strongly as we move into the new exciting spring season and this fits perfectly alongside our timeless tiaras and headpieces.

We are seeing a definite move towards brides seeking a more relaxed, mellow feel for their big day. Due to this, we have created our new collections with this in mind. Our new designs offer modern twists with nods to classic styles that never date or go out of fashion.

What’s next for Ivory & Co?

At Ivory & Co we are all passionate about growing the brand each year and every member of staff strives to make it better than the last. In the last few years, we have expanded the business globally and attended extra European trade shows.

Barcelona is now a regular on the Ivory & Co calendar alongside our favourites - White Gallery and The Harrogate Bridal Show. We aim to reach as many stockists as we possibly can and continue to expand our loving brand. Our stockists are at the heart of everything we do and we want to continue to grow and support such a fabulous industry.

Why have you chosen to exhibit at White Gallery this year?

White Gallery is one of our favourite trade shows so we are very excited to be exhibiting again this year. Being able to reach so many retailers from both the UK and internationally is so important to us. We love being able to offer our stockists the chance to view our latest collections as well as a few of our timeless classics. White Gallery is a great opportunity to gather invaluable feedback from our current stockists and welcome new ones to our brand all in a wonderful spacious show environment.

Ivory & Co will be exhibiting at White Gallery 2020 on Stand 401. Make sure you register for the event here so you don’t miss out.
