As we entered 2020, none of us could have expected the world to be hit with a global health crisis. However in times of uncertainty, we have seen some incredible work and innovation take place. This year’s special edition of the Bridal Buyer Awards will reflect that.

This uncertain, unpredictable, unknown time has been difficult and created many challenges, but it has also produced some incredible acts of kindness and innovative thinking. Once again, the bridal industry has gone above and beyond to provide exceptional customer service.

Act of Kindness

Details: Has a person in your company – your manager or a member of staff – gone above the call of duty to help your community? We want you to nominate the people who have been serving the local community by helping the vulnerable, fund raising and offering assistance and support to others.

How to enter: Entries are via nomination. We welcome you to nominate and enter your member of staff, manager or business owner. This category is open to both retailers and suppliers.

Image requirements: Please include a high-resolution (300dpi) image of your shop front and also the person you are nominating

Community Support - Retailers

Details: This category recognises the ways in which retail businesses have played an integral part in the effort to help the NHS and key workers throughout the lockdown period. This award will celebrate schemes such as making PPE including scrubs, arranging giveaways and offering discounts for frontline workers. No matter the size of the gesture, we are looking for those who have kept up the morale of key workers with their initiatives. Any endorsements you can provide from those you have helped – prize winners, PPE recipients etc – would be very welcome.

How to enter: Please enter your own boutique / shop and include endorsements from those that you have helped if possible. This category is open to retailers only.

Image requirements: Please include three high resolution (300dpi) supporting images or photographs of your shop

Community Support - Suppliers

Details: This category recognises the ways in which suppliers have played an integral part in the effort to help the NHS and key workers, as well as vulnerable members of the community, throughout the lockdown period. Outstanding Service - Suppliers, Manufacturers & Designers.

Details: This award has been set up in order for retailers to thank and congratulate their suppliers. Boutiques can nominate the suppliers that have gone above and beyond the call of duty in these unprecedented times. We are looking for suppliers that have continued to offer exceptional customer service, who have supported boutiques and their brides, and who have come up with creative or helpful solutions to new problems that have arisen throughout the lockdown and social distancing period.

How to enter: Entries are via nomination. We welcome retailers to nominate and enter their suppliers.

Unsung Hero

Details: Retailers, do you have a member of staff that has gone above the call of duty to help your business? Or has your manager shown unwavering support to their staff? This award will congratulate those who have shown outstanding spirit and dedication to staff, colleagues and customers throughout these uncertain times. We want to know what the member of staff or manager has done and why you feel they have shown outstanding commitment.

How to enter: Entries are via nomination. We welcome you to nominate and enter your member of staff, manager or business owner. This category is open to retailers only.

Exceptional Customer Service For Brides

Details: This category is for shops that have helped a bride or brides whose wedding plans have taken a drastic change; postponed, relocation, virtual ceremony, or something moved from overseas to the UK. We want to hear your real stories, what you have done to support your brides and how you have overcome new and unknown challenges. Ideally, we would like to have a note from the bride or brides you are discussing as an endorsement to the entry.

How to enter: Please enter your own boutique / shop and include endorsements from the brides that you discuss if possible. This category is open to retailers only.

Digital innovation - Retailer 

Details: How have you been using your website and social media tools to engage with your brides-to-be? We are looking for creative new campaigns, clever use of social media, how you have offered support and guidance to customers, as well as new ways of holding appointments and selling using a digital platform.

How to enter: Please enter your own business’s digital platforms. This category is open to retailers only.

Digital innovation – Suppliers, Manufacturers & Designers.

Details: How have you been using your website and social media tools to engage with your customers? What new techniques have you employed to ensure that the needs of your clients are met? We want to hear about the most innovative new ways to showcase a collection, holding watch parties, offering digital showroom tours and more.

How to enter: Please enter your own business’s digital platforms. This category is open to suppliers only.

Editor’s Choice

Details: If there are any stand out stories that Bridal Buyer feels are deserving of an extra accolade, either from retailers or suppliers, the team will select and reward that entry. This category cannot be entered, but will be selected from the existing entries. The winner or winners will be at the discretion of the Bridal Buyer team.
