Once considered a nostalgic trend, the peplum waist has re-emerged with a modern twist: sharper, softer and undeniably bridal.

The peplum is officially having a bridal renaissance. After years of minimalist dresses and clean-cut silhouettes dominating the aisle, Bridal Week signalled a return to sculptural femininity - with peplum waists emerging as one of the standout trends for 2026. Designers at The Runway embraced the silhouette in fresh, modern ways, moving beyond its early-2010s association into something more refined and couture-driven. Rather than feeling overtly retro, the new peplum added architectural drama and emphasized the waistline in a way that felt romantic and directional.
