Day one of the show, which will run until 10 March, has already seen visitors from all over the globe with the capital attracting a hoard of international retailers from countries including France, Italy and Germany. Irish retailers have also been out in force and The Prom Company had taken its first order of the day from a Dublin-based boutique within the opening two hours.

Alexia Designs also reported a strong start to the show and on the first morning had numerous visits from an encouraging number of new shops. The brand house, which is showing for the first time at The London Bridal Show, is debuting its new bridesmaid label Liz Fields. The new collection features a playful selection of dresses with lace and sparkling details, plus each style can come in either floor or knee-length. Liz Fields is showing alongside Alexia Designs’ other bridal, prom and bridesmaid ranges.

Further new labels to the show including Allure and Irregular Choice said the opening morning had proved positive with store owners enquiring about their collections. Rita Mae, a new diffusion label from Alan Hannah, welcomed admiring retailers onto its stand to show off the new tea-length designs.

With so many retailers strolling around the show today, hopes are high for tomorrow for some serious buying. We can’t wait to find out what the bestsellers are.
