Judging panel announced for the Bridal Buyer Awards 2024

The judging panel is made up of a cross section of media representatives and industry professionals making for a diverse and knowledgeable selection of experts.

The Bridal Buyer team are delighted to share the judging panel for next year’s awards. Taking place at the Harrogate Convention Centre on Monday 25th March, the night promises to be a memorable celebration of the businesses and people that make the bridal industry so special.

There is still time to enter the awards, but make sure to do so by midnight on Thursday 30th November. Click here to submit your entries.

Holly Adams

Holly Adams is a social media enthusiast, managing all things from Influencer marketing campaigns to social strategies, to content creation to platform management. Working for a performance marketing agency who specialise in luxury brands. Holly manages accounts including Aston Martin, Victoria’s Secret and Creed Fragrances, ensuring they’re at the forefront of digital marketing, driving strong results for clients.

Sally Angharad

Sally Angharad is a material and trend consultant, searching out the latest innovations and identifying new directions for designers, manufacturers, and retailers. From material innovation to lifestyle trends, she has provided workshops, trend content and marketing material for global brands such as L’Oréal, Camira Fabrics, Comex, Antron, Caesarstone, and has contributed to design reports. Sally also regularly writes colour related features and is currently studying a PhD in Colour Forecasting. She also creates material and product displays for in-house design events and exhibitions such as Surface Design Show, London.

Nina Beer

Nina Beer is the founder of Occasion Queens, the pioneering company that brought On The Day Wedding Coordination to the forefront of the UK wedding industry. With 20 years of experience in events, she has honed her expertise over the last 7 years, focusing on weddings and successfully orchestrating over 400 beautiful celebrations. As Occasion Queens evolved, Nina expanded her offerings beyond specialist coordination services for couples and into venue consultancy. After selling the company in 2023, she continues to provide freelance support to wedding planners as well as working with the brand to provide expert consultancy for wedding venues.

Karen Bell

Founder and Editor of Belle Bridal Magazine, Karen Bell has experience spanning almost 20 years in bridal fashion in both the digital and print arenas. Her extensive styling repertoire includes her working and consulting for some of the biggest brands in bridal fashion today.

 

Zoe Burke

Zoe is a leading UK wedding expert and editor of Hitched.co.uk. She has over 10 years’ experience working in the wedding industry, having started at Hitched back in 2012. She frequently shares her expert wedding advice and tips with leading UK publications, including BBC radio, Newsweek, The Independent, Stylist, the Metro and even the Today Show. Zoe was an integral part of the UK Weddings Taskforce, which worked with the UK Government to a safe roadmap for the wedding industry though the pandemic.

Anna-Marie DeSouza

Anna-Marie has been the editor of Bridal Buyer since 2017 and has proudly been involved in the Bridal Buyer Awards since that time. She works closely with the bridal retail industry, bridal designers and manufacturers to bring the latest news, interviews, collections and behind the scenes information to the magazine’s readers. Anna-Marie has also worked within the consumer sector with Confetti Magazine and has a wealth of knowledge and experience of the weddings industry as a whole.

Megan Garmers

As a business consultant and sales/marketing strategist with experience spanning more than two decades in multiple industries internationally, Megan is passionate about de-mystifying tech solutions like social media, automation and AI to help businesses increase revenue, impact and engagement online and in-person. Megan is also a Bridal Buyer columnist, writing regular in-depth business articles for bridal retailers.

Pippa Goulden

Pippa Goulden is a small business PR expert and is on a mission to help small businesses use PR to grow their business, build their brand and drive sales. Pippa wants to show small businesses that they can do PR for themselves without big budgets or a little black book of contacts. Pippa has a DIY PR membership and works 1-2-1 with small businesses to give them the knowledge and confidence they need to get the results for themselves. She has been writing for Bridal Buyer for a number of years, and focusses her articles on easy steps to PR success.

Nicole Higgins

Nicole Higgins is a seasoned professional with over 18 years’ experience in the retail industry, having worked as a buyer with blue-chip companies such as Primark and M&S across multi-product categories from Bras to Beauty. Her journey in the corporate world has equipped her with a wealth of knowledge and insights that she now dedicates to empowering startups and small to medium-sized enterprises in their journey to growth, profit and scalability. Nicole’s keen understanding of market dynamics allows her to provide tailored solutions that drive success in today’s competitive landscape. She also hosts the weekly podcast "Start Scale Succeed”.

Peta Hunt

Peta Hunt has had a long career as a freelance fashion stylist, working internationally with great photographers, designers, styling shows and campaigns, as varied as from Versace to Clothes Show Live. She then entered into the wonderful world of weddings in 1997, starting as Fashion Director on You & Your Wedding and ending up as Editor at Large. Peta loved everything about her job - the shoots, the shows, the travel, the exhibitions, everything. She fully embraced Instagram and when we finally waived goodbye to print, moved back to being freelance. She is now enjoying life styling and acting as a consultant for several clients.

Angel Sinclair

Angel Sinclair was born in East London of West Indian heritage and is a mother of four and grandmother of eight. Angel founded Models of Diversity after appearing on Gok’s Miss Naked Beauty in 2008, struck by the great variety of beautiful women participating. She became determined to promote the use of models that reflect the diversity in society, in race, shape, size, age and ability. Starting with simple photoshoots MoD grew, conducting street surveys, appearing in media, delivering modelling workshops, debating in social media and producing some great fashion shows. 15 years on Angel has no plans to stop!

Joanna Southwell

Joanna is a business coach for bridal designers and retailers. She opened her own award-winning bridal shop, Woburn Bridal for fashion-forward brides in 2015 which was proudly the first all-British designer store in the UK. After growing the brand significantly, Joanna merged the shop with the alternative couture bridal house Bowen Dryden. Their garments were featured in, Vogue, OK!, Malvie, Rock n Roll Bride, Insposa, to name a few. Throughout her career, Joanna has created, managed and styled shoots for some of the best emerging and well-established bridal brands both in the UK and internationally. Her work has been featured in Tatler, Sheerluxe, Junebug Weddings, The Metro, Bridal Buyer & many more.

Judging will open once entries close and the shortlisted finalists will be announced during the week commencing 8th January.
