White Gallery is where bridal trends are set for the upcoming year. Last week saw world-leading designers descend on Shoreditch, giving us an in-depth look at what brides can expect to be wearing in 2025.
Taking place just after the highly anticipated Met Gala, White Gallery 2024 was perfectly positioned to showcase the latest trends and innovations in bridal fashion. Drawing inspiration from the ensembles seen on the red carpet, designers at White Gallery presented a diverse array of styles that were testament to the creative dynamism of the bridal industry.
Let’s take a look at the key bridal trends spotted at this year’s edition of White Gallery.
Best in Bloom: Both delicate and dramatic floral motifs took centre stage at this year’s show, adorning gowns with a romantic flourish. Designers seamlessly incorporated intricate petal appliqués, embroidered blooms and floral fabrics into their latest collections.
Barely There: Get ready to clutch your pearls: sheer wedding dresses are everywhere this season. Fine and delicate, but also sensual and daring, semi-transparent fabrics made a striking statement at this year’s show. We also saw a lot of strategic design choices, as our designers proved that elegance and sensuality can work together.
Textured Elegance: Texture seems to be playing a pivotal role this season, with designers exploring textured fabrics and tactile embellishments to create depth and multidimension. Ruffles, beading, tassels and appliqués added depth and richness to the dresses.
Dropped Waist Drama: Following on from this year’s Met Gala, the dropped waist silhouette made a triumphant return from the nineties and noughties, hugging the curves all the way down and giving the illusion of an elongated torso.
High Shine: Our designers proved that even the most simple silhouettes can have the most significant impact. Sleek, feminine and ultra-chic, metallic accents, mirror components and high-shine fabrics made their appearance this season.
Big Bows: It’s true: bow detailing is here to stay. Playful and charming, we saw bows in all sizes, colours, shapes and textures at this year’s White Gallery. They adorned dresses, veils, hair accessories and shoes - there’s no escaping this trend for the foreseeable future.
Tailoring with Precision: Brides have loved the tailored look ever since Bianca Jagger wore a suit to her wedding in the 1970s. This year’s show featured impeccable tailoring and structured silhouettes - and the re-wearability of a two-piece is a big plus!
