Ahead of Europe’s most-established luxury trade event, we speak with the KATYA KATYA team to find out more about the vision behind their newest collection, and how each piece is made with love in Latvia.
How did your journey into bridal design begin?
KATYA KATYA’s story began where many friendships start, at school. Two kindred spirits, Katya and Marina who became the best of friends. As the years went on and life took them in different directions, their friendship never faded. Built on love, loyalty and happy memories shared, their passion was to create something truly beautiful which reflected them as individuals. Together they founded KATYA KATYA (est. 2011), where modern meets timeless - exclusively handcrafted dresses, featuring Italian & French lace and the perfect fit!
What is your creative process like?
The gowns are made to order in our studio in Riga, under the personal supervision of our designer, Katya, ensuring unparalleled quality and attention to detail.
What inspired the current collection?
Our latest collection, Muse, introduces an array of new silhouettes, featuring clean lines and versatile designs perfect for transitioning from the ceremony to the celebration. Some (more modest) styles also feature unique design, allowing the lace layer to be detached from the base dress, providing styling versatility for the brides.
If you had to choose one piece in your collections as a standout, which would it be?
The Dhalia dress - a stunning statement piece that embodies timeless elegance for your special day. This gown features a beautifully embroidered lace top with classy long sleeves, paired harmoniously with a dreamy tulle skirt. Dhalia is designed to maintain its status as a striking statement piece throughout your wedding celebration. The classic and modest silhouette ensures a sophisticated look.
