Tell us about the development from your first collection until now.

We launched our brand centred around a core aesthetic of modern and minimal designs in high quality fabrics and finishes. We wanted to be able to share our designs with brides all around the world and for them to be able to buy something fabulous at a price that didn’t break the bank, or sink the entire wedding budget! Watching how the look and style of brides have changed throughout the last two years following the pandemic, we feel more impassioned than ever that our brand is the missing link in bridal offerings, and so have started to introduce short and midi dresses alongside our jumpsuits to meet the demand of contemporary brides in a post-Covid world.

What are Rowley Hesselballe’s brand values?

Having worked in fashion buying for over a decade each, we both felt that the most important element of our brand was quality fabrics and craftsmanship. We select all of our fabrics from mills across Europe, and oversee the fitting and finishing of all of our garments at our atelier in our international base of Istanbul. We also feel the versatility and re-usability of our garments is important with styles that can be worn even after a wedding day and not hidden away in a wardrobe never to be seen again: we try to ensure that while what we create feels special for the bride’s big day, it doesn’t only have one opportunity to be worn!

Where is your brand currently stocked, and where are you looking to expand to?

We are currently stocked in the designer department store Gizia Gate Istanbul and the amazing Davet Cok Elbesim Yok (DCEY) showroom and website. Across Europe, we currently have two stockists in Germany and are in discussions with several more. We also stock all of our styles on our site so we can reach brides far and wide.

What can stockists find in your latest collection?

The Queens Collection, launching in early 2022, is all about the modern bride in different guises. Like so many of the famous Queens throughout history, they may have differed in style but they were all powerful women who weren’t afraid to push forward new ideas. So, in honour, we have introduced a range of different styles but all with the same modern and powerful look. From a tulle, silk organza tutu skirt and silk organza blouse, to a sleek cut suit with crop top to the short one shoulder mini with a dramatic flower embellishment, each style has its own story in the collection.

What are you looking forward to the most about Global Gallery?

We wanted to let bridal boutiques know we can help them grow new areas of their ranges with our modern styles and price points. Brides are looking for something different, and often at a less eye-watering price than what is generally available, or there is a bride who wants an entire bridal weekend look: we are the perfect match!
