Farewell to a fashion icon

Fashion legend Valentino Garavani, the Italian designer behind some of the most iconic and glamorous gowns in modern history, passed away in Rome at the age of 93. Founder of the Valentino fashion house in 1960 and creator of the instantly recognisable ’Valentino Red’, he dressed royalty, Hollywood stars and global style icons for more than five decades. His refined aesthetic helped shape modern luxury fashion, with an influence that continues to resonate across couture and bridal today. Tributes poured in from around the world as the industry mourned the loss of a true master of fashion.

TWIA celebrates the UK’s best wedding businesses

January 21st saw one of the big nights on the UK wedding calendar as The Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA) announced the national winners at its Liverpool gala. TWIA wrapped up a full awards season that saw regional finalists crowned in autumn and winners celebrated throughout November and January. From photographers and venues to planners and stylists, winners are recognised not just for popularity but for quality, with feedback from real couples helping determine the top honours. For bridal boutiques and suppliers, a TWIA win continues to be one of the most coveted badges of credibility nationwide. Congratulations to TDR Bridal and Pearl and Eve Bridal for bringing home the Bridal Retailer of the Year awards!

A quarter-century of British bridal design

This month, Caroline Castigliano celebrated the 25th anniversary of her bridal label, marking a quarter-century since opening her first bespoke bridal boutique in Surrey. To commemorate the milestone, the brand introduced special anniversary touches for brides, including celebratory appointments and gifts, honouring its legacy of British craftsmanship and timeless design.

One year anniversary for Bys Vyken

Bys Vyken Bridal marked an important milestone this month, celebrating its first year in business. The boutique’s anniversary reflects the continued appetite for independent, design-led bridal retailers and the strong community support behind new entrants to the UK bridal scene. Here’s to many more years!

Why winter weddings are on the rise

Winter weddings are also gaining traction across the UK - with up to 20% of British couples now choosing a cold-season date. Experts say winter offers unique charm, dramatic lighting, festive vibes and even off-peak booking perks, all without the comfort challenges of summer heat. It just might be the next trend worth embracing.
