What’s the thing you want your bridal business to be known for in 2025?
If you’re serious about sharing your business online, then this is the time to dust off your YouTube channel and get it working for you.
Maybe like me, you set up a channel years ago, and it’s been sort of festering in the background, with the odd video finding its way on there every few months. If you have a quick look, you might be surprised to see how many views those occasional videos have achieved, and see living proof that there’s life in that channel and brides-to-be are actually hungry for more content from you.
Because as January draws to a close, the days are getting noticeably brighter and the window of opportunity for filming good quality footage with just a phone, is getting wider. Video editing couldn’t be easier with AI at your elbow, and the world’s second largest search engine is seriously BLOWING UP for bridal content in 2025.
As an industry, we have a clear niche and that niche happens to be something beautiful that people are searching for. Unlike the mysterious algorithms of some other social media platforms that usually distract us, YouTube seems to love us bridal businesses just for being…well…bridal.
It’s a slow burn, and consistency is key, but it’s worth it for the results. You can improve your discoverability by sharing the links to your videos across all your other platforms and repurpose the content endlessly.
Most of us go on YouTube either for a “How to” video, or for some aspirational, uplifting content to enjoy, and brides-to-be are no different. They also never switch off, as we know. They want tips and advice, to know why your dresses are different, your boutique, your attitude, and this will come through every video you post.
1️⃣Brides-to-be who are actively looking for a dress and want inspiration.
2️⃣The 50+ women who just LOVE wedding dresses and are likely to either be a mother of the bride, or know someone who is.
You as a bridal business are perfectly placed to take advantage of this to increase your visibility and potentially monetise the time you invest in making these videos.
I’m not a social media guru, and I won’t pretend to understand how algorithms work, but I’ve accidentally stumbled on this little goldmine recently by intentionally giving my channel
www.youtube.com/@CarolineArthurBridal…some TLC.
The results are so astounding (despite some of the cringeworthy amateur content and production), I’ve stopped talking about dyeing old wedding dresses for 5 minutes and want to encourage you to join me in this YouTube adventure. As I’ve proved – you don’t need to be an expert to have success.
Half of my content is about wedding dresses for brides-to-be and half is about repurposing wedding dresses. Of the 9000 or so subscribers I seem to now have on YT, I thought the majority would be brides – maybe aged 25 - 35. I recently discovered however, that over half of the were aged 50+. But those nice middle-aged ladies are increasing my views and therefore my visibility and reach. And judging from my enquiry levels, they’re telling their daughters to check me out on YouTube, because the 25 year old demographic has sky-rocketed since I’ve been posting more regularly.
Once you’re in the habit of posting, you’ll see your views and enquiries increase and if you keep going and get over 4000 watch hours (it’s a lot, but it just takes regular posting), YouTube will start paying you for the adverts they show on your videos.
1️⃣Discover the perfect simple and elegant wedding dress for your day (an in depth look at the features and benefits of some of the dresses in your collection).
2️⃣Wedding dress shopping (one of your team wearing a selection of different gowns)
3️⃣Your topic (lift something off your latest blog and just narrate it to a slideshow of your latest gowns and some panorama shots of your boutique.)
Working in this picture-perfect industry, we’re all in an ideal position to start and/or grow a YouTube channel. If you’ve already got a channel then is this the year to revive it?
Good luck!
