Runway Review: Savin London

We take a closer look at Savin London’s runway show at White Gallery 2022 and the trends set to dominate the bridal fashion scene.

Savin London is a luxury bridal label that encapsulates elegance, craftsmanship and exclusivity. Many of Savin London’s designs feature extravagant detailing in lace, silks and hand-painted fabrics making each Savin London dress a luxurious experience of glamour. At this year’s White Gallery, Savin London showcased a selection of their freshest designs on the White Gallery catwalk. The audience saw floral appliques, plunging necklines, billowing statement sleeves and a move away from the traditional all white gown with pops of floral colour running throughout the collection. The collection received a standing ovation which was truly deserved.

Floral Appliques

This Savin London gown draws attention in its subtleties – the fine spaghetti straps allow full attention to be drawn to the structured bodice and plunging sweetheart neckline that features white floral appliques with detailed yellow centres. Both subtle and bold floral appliques were a key element of Savin London’s catwalk show – this dress captures how subtle appliques can elevate a bridal gown and give the whole bridal look a freshness and on trend look.

Colour

Pops of colour is a bridal trend we have seen throughout this years’ White Gallery. Savin London brought their own twist on colour with this bridal gown. This dress was a showstopper on the catwalk with the bright and bold abstract floral design on the bodice and sleeves moving into full floral bouquets scattered throughout the length of the flowing skirt. The colours in this dress were a breath of fresh air and created a bridal look that could be worn for multiple occasions after the wedding day – ideal for brides going for a less traditional day.

Statement sleeves

Statement puff sleeves were seen throughout Savin London’s collection and this dress captured the playful elegance a puff sleeve can give a bridal look. The mid length mesh sleeves draw attention to the waistline and natural shape of the arm. Paired with the plunging neckline, this look is the ideal blend of playful and glamorous – perfect for brides looking to capture the eyes of their guests but want an element of subtlety.

Plunging necklines

Many of Savin London’s gowns featured plunging necklines and this dress showcased how a plunging neckline is a timeless classic that undoubtedly creates an opulent bridal look. The neckline on this dress is paired with a low scooped back and plunging sides that pull the eye to the belted waistline that has a large bow at the back of the dress creating the perfect A-line gown. It is the plunging neckline and back that allow the statement bow to look elegant and effortless.
