Through Their Eyes: Bridal Week on Film

This season at Bridal Week, we handed some bridal boutiques one of our branded disposable cameras and set them loose to capture the event from their own perspective. The results? A refreshingly candid look at the gowns, the people and the little details that make Bridal Week such a highlight on the industry calendar.

Bridal Week is one of those rare events where fashion, creativity and camaraderie collide in a whirlwind of wedding dresses, bubbles and runway excitement. Every year, manufacturers, designers, boutiques and international press descend on the show floor to spot the latest trends and soak up inspiration for the season ahead.

This season, we wanted to peel back the curtain and see Bridal Week through the eyes of the people who live and breathe bridal every day. So we handed a few of our favourite boutiques one of our branded disposable cameras and let them wander the show floor, capturing the moments that caught their attention - from candid team selfies to standout gowns, playful behind-the-scenes glimpse and the little details that make Bridal Week unforgettable.

Two shops - Anya Bridal Couture and Silk & Maple - shared their snapshots, their standout moments and their take on what today’s brides are truly looking for.

Anya Bridal Couture

For the ABC team, their very first snap captured the excitement of arriving: “Our first picture was three of the team walking past the dresses of the year, I think!” It set the tone for a weekend of discovery and inspiration.

The runway, as always, delivered an overwhelming array of beauty. “Too many to choose,” they said when asked to pick a single standout, though the gown that lingered in their minds was ‘Avril’ by Veni Infantino.

When asked what brides should know, they offered timeless advice: “They take time to make, so give enough time when looking at dresses.”

If their store itself could be a gown? “A-line, and simple,” they said, reflecting their love of timeless elegance.

Among the photos they can’t wait to see developed is one sure to bring a smile: their Essense Designs rep grabbing a cheeky selfie!

And as for what brides are searching for right now? “Classic with a twist.”

Silk & Maple

For Silk & Maple, their eyes went straight to Ellis on the runway: “Always Ellis!”

Still, one gown stood out above the rest - ‘Guinevere’ by Calla Blanche was their standout gown from the show, a design that balanced drama with romantic detail.

When it comes to advice for brides, their philosophy is refreshingly bold: “You can wear what YOU want!”

If their boutique could be imagined as a gown, they said: “Definitely floral with a soft, floaty fabric that feels feminine and fun, with a cat-eye bodice and exposed boning - something with edge and uniqueness.”

Their undeveloped film promises a few gems, including a playful selfie attempt and “a picture of Roberta on a bench…”

And in terms of what their brides are truly seeking? Structure, individuality and timelessness with a twist: “A Silk & Maple bride looks for something classic with a unique or special modern twist.”

Laura May Bridal

We also gave one of our cameras to the Laura May Bridal team, who turned their lens toward the details - elegant silhouettes, modern textures, and runway moments that defined this season’s trends.

Through their disposable cameras, both boutiques captured the energy of a week where fashion meets community, and where each shop redefines what bridal means for their brides. We can’t wait to see more! We even captured some our own..
