We chat to Katie Bevington from Monica Loretti to find out more about the label and how to achieve this type of glamorous look.

Katie tells us: “This year, Monica Loretti’s collections aim to elevate the bride to the pinnacle of sophistication. The season’s trends include captivating accessories like capes, oversized bows, attachable skirts, boleros, additional sleeves, and veils. So, what inspires the sleek and slimline designs for the label? “Our sleek and slimline designs are inspired by a harmonious fusion of modern sophistication and timeless elegance,” notes Katie. She tells us that the designers draw inspiration from the inherent grace of minimalist beauty, and the dresses encapsulate a vision of understated luxury. She adds: “The designer’s dedication to clean lines, meticulous tailoring, and an emphasis on effortless silhouettes stems from a desire to celebrate the beauty of simplicity, while embracing contemporary trends. Each creation is crafted to evoke a sense of refined allure, empowering brides to exude confidence and grace on their special day.”

Use of fabric is obviously really important here, and as the brand has its own lace making factories, it is second nature for them to craft original and exclusive designs. “We also carefully select fabrics like chiffon, satin and crepe to complement sleek lines,” explains Katie. “These fabrics, known for their ease and lightness, luxurious sheen and understated sophistication, contribute to the overall elegance of our designs.” The label has also recently added crepe satin and crepe Mikado, which offers a refined look, blended with softness that enhances the graceful flow of the dress silhouettes. As well as feeling luxurious, this also gives brides the freedom to move effortlessly on their special day.

Easy to wear

On the topic of comfort and wearability, this is something of optimal importance to the label from the design stage.

“Undoubtedly, a dress should embody not just style and elegance, but also comfort. It’s crucial that nothing gets in the way of the bride enjoying her special day,” says Katie.

One key element here is ensuring the dresses fit customers’ actual sizes, and Monica Loretti is meticulous about achieving a perfect fit for their brides. “We rely on our own production of mannequins that precisely represent all size measurements,” she says. “The many positive reviews from our customers attest to this dedication. Moreover, apart from standard fittings, we can also personalise dress measurements for each individual bride, tailoring dresses to the bride’s specific measurements rather than using standard sizing.”

It is also worth pointing out, that while comfort is key, this is not done at the expense of style or staying on trend. For example, this season dropped waisted styles with corsets have been a popular choice, and clever detailing from the label has ensured that this look can be achieved on a very wearable (and stunning aesthetically) basis. “We’ve ensured optimal lengthening to enable brides to comfortably sit and move without feeling constraint,” says Katie. “This design not only maintains traditional comfort and quality but also elongates the waist, achieving a slimmer silhouette, fulfilling every bride’s desire.”
