From elegant ivory heels to twinkling tiaras, The Perfect Bridal Company prides itself upon providing every accessory a bride could possibly need for her big day. Exuding an aura of timeless opulence intertwined with a playful, whimsical flair, their latest collection effortlessly fulfils the modern bride’s style desires, leaving her feeling truly fabulous from head to toe. On top of their versatile assortment, the launch of their revolutionary ’Shoe Lab’ means that brides are easily able to repurpose their wedding shoes after their nuptials. We speak with owner Dan Mutton to find out more!

Tell us the company’s history, how you started and how the brand has developed.

We are a UK based independent Bridal and Occasion brand. Our offices are just outside Leicester in the pretty village of Newbold Verdon, and our main mission is to make beautiful products for some of the UK’s leading boutiques. We started in the bridal industry in 2010 with our first collection of shoes and our first accessory collection in 2018. As well as offering a white label dress collection to our stockists, in 2022 we launched our own bridal dress label - The Perfect Bridal Collection by Kay Heeley.

What sets your bridal designs apart from others in the industry?

Our collections are designed to be fully inclusive for all brides – we offer a little something for everyone. Our 2024 collection of shoes goes one step further with many of our designs not only on trend for the wedding day, but also easily adaptable for use after the big day with our ‘Shoe Lab’ options.

What is the brand’s proudest achievement?

Being shortlisted for the 2024 Bridal Accessories supplier of the year!

Can you share any sustainable practices or initiatives that you incorporate within your designs?

We are always looking for ways to improve our sustainability as a brand. This year sees the launch of our ‘Shoe Lab’ giving more versatility and adaptability to our shoe collection, helping reduce the environmental impact and promoting sustainability by making it easier to re-purpose wedding shoes for many more years to come and future events. Another example of our best practices is our efforts within our distribution to use more sustainable packaging and re-purposing packaging where possible, reducing waste and promoting re-use and recycling.

Can you tell us three interesting facts about the brand?

1. We don’t just sell Bridal shoes! We sell all kinds of bridal and occasion accessories and have our own dress label too!
2. Our first bridal collection featured only 12 lines – 14 years later, we now offer over 600!
3. Our shoes & dresses have been worn in Westend shows, featured on Netflix and worn by artists for world tours.

What inspired your latest collection, and how do you stay current with bridal fashion trends?

Inspiration for our collection, as always, has been taken from a combination of feedback from our wonderful stockists, our market research of current trends and our ever creative & inspirational designers.

Describe your latest collection in three words.

Eclectic, fashionable, customisable!

Can you describe the creative process, from initial concept through to final product?

Our team of designers, sales and customer service personnel get together for an initial meeting to discuss any new trends coming through, our current collection, customer feedback and sales. From here our designers do further research and source new fabric & materials before presenting ideas and concepts to the team. From here we start to put together the new collection and final concept sketches are created, these are then passed onto our pattern cutters to start making the concepts a reality. Initial samples are then produced and presented – any final tweaks are made, and fit testing is done. Final confirmation samples are then made by the suppliers and put through a rigorous testing procedure ahead of the final production process.

What design trends have emerged from the collection (silhouettes, materials, embellishments)?

Embracing the timeless trend of pearls, our new accessory collection showcases an array of exquisite designs that exude opulence and refinement.

Is there a single piece that embodies the vision of the whole collection? Can you tell us more about it?

One of the standout features of our 2024 accessory collection is the inclusion of cowl back trains. These on trend elegant trains add a touch of drama, glamour, and sophistication. For our shoes I would say the Camden, these platform shoes add height and style making them a trendy choice, but they are also easily customizable with our shoe lab options.

Why is Bridal Week so important to you?

Bridal Week is a fantastic opportunity meet our amazing stockists face to face and gain valuable feedback for our new collections, and a great platform for meeting potential new stockists both in the UK and Internationally. It’s also a relaxed and enjoyable environment to network with customer and other bridal industry brands.

What does the future hold for you? Do you have any exciting upcoming plans you can share with us?

2024 has already got off to any exciting start! As always, we will continue to look at the latest trends and opportunities to develop new and exciting designs and products to add to our collection
