Tell us about the company’s roots.

Romantica are now celebrating an incredible 40 years of family owned and run business. We take huge pride in our heritage and in knowing that to this day, we still serve many of the same stores our founder supplied all those years ago.

Whilst we have our roots firmly planted in Devon, we are expanding rapidly across the globe. We have now opened a fully operational distribution hub in Northern Germany, which enables us to keep costs effective for our European customers as well as provide extremely responsive lead times. Factories are able to ship directly to the European hub and due to the huge success of this new operation our presence is particularly strong in regions within DACH, BENELUX and Scandinavia.

What sets Romantica apart from the rest, and what’s your biggest secret to success?

Romantica is highly regarded as a long established brand. Our attention to detail and focus on body positive, size inclusive styles sets our designs apart from others in the industry.

Our long standing, loyal customer base. We still serve many of the same customers our founder supplied many years ago.

Can you share with us any sustainable practices or initiatives you have?

Our factories cut economically, using various techniques to minimise waste. We have also installed solar panels for the warehouse and have incorporated wooden hangers as part of our ongoing investment into our businesses green credentials.

Can you tell us three interesting facts about the brand?

1. Inside every Romantica gown is a hand stitched lace blue rose - a bride’s ’something blue’ for the day.
2. Our factory extension was opened by Princess Anne, through her involvement in UK fashion textiles. It was a moment of great pride for our family and business.
3. British, family owned and run for 40 years.

How do you manage to stay current with bridal fashion trends?

Our designers frequently conduct market research to forecast the upcoming trends, drawing further inspiration from social media. Our latest collection is a celebration of the last 40 years, focusing heavily on fit inclusivity.

Can you describe the creative process, from initial concept through to final product?

We start off by conducting some in-depth market research into current and upcoming trends before we start putting together some initial sketches. Once we have decided on the designs we are going to run, we begin sourcing swatches. We then move on to toiling and fit adjustments before the exciting final sign off and photography of the new collection!

Why is Bridal Week so important for you and the business?

Harrogate is the home of British bridal and many of the customers whom we have built relationships with over the last 40 years were established in Harrogate. It sits at a key time for us when we’re launching our collections and provides a great platform for us to meet our partners and showcase the future of British bridal design.

How can retailers get in touch with you to book an appointment ahead of the show?
