Ines Di Santo has been designing and imagining wedding dresses since her childhood in Buenos Aires. Her love of fashion was nurtured by her parents – her mother tailored men’s shirts and her father was a designer who created covers for fashion magazines. Immigrating to Canada at age 23, Ines started working at a bridal shop; over the next few years, hard work, dedication and determination ensued and her eponymous brand was launched.

Fast forward to 2024 and the world has seen over 50 Ines Di Santo collections, an accomplishment that reflects the designer’s creativity and entrepreneurial nature. Ines Di Santo’s collections can now be seen in her flagship boutique on Toronto’s Davenport Avenue, across Canada, USA and in luxurious bridal shops around the world.

Ines Di Santo: Romanticism Unveiled

Bridal Buyer would always describe Ines Di Santo as crafting fashion-forward, sophisticated and feminine gowns, but the real magic comes from her attention to detail. The meticulous way in which she designs means that every gown has a purpose, every style has a special feature and every cut and detail is finished to perfection.

The Spring/Summer 2025 Ines Di Santo couture collection is aptly name Romanticism Unveiled. It takes a look at the processes and art that goes into crafting a collection of romantic gowns, as well as how technology can be used alongside traditional skills. The designer tells us about were five core characteristics that she studied to gather inspiration from, and these were:

  • Focus on individuality
  • Emphasis on nature
  • Emotion over reason
  • Freedom of form
  • Exploration into the unknown

Discussing the inspiration a little further, Ines Di Santo tells us: “In this digital age of algorithms, AI, and an abundance of screens, I wanted to explore the expression of my imagination and the very essential human aspect of creativity amplified by modern technology, blending the two worlds as seamlessly as possible.” She wanted to explore a way in which the future of bridal design and fashion can develop harmoniously alongside the ever evolving world of technology.

For this collection, the boundaries of fabric development have been pushed to create something contemporary and unique. The limits of modern embroidery were tested, too, and laser cutting machines were used to create new layered fabrications, which were matched together with both hand painted and hand beaded details: “A level of craft and artisanship that can never be fully substituted by machines,” says Ines Di Santo.

Ines Di Santo: Style of the Week

The collection is full of variety with a stunning balance of styles – some sleek and slim, and others that are full of texture and volume. Fine tailoring is evident throughout as well as the quality of the cut and almost sculptural detailing. Choosing a favourite is no mean feat, but this week Bridal Buyer has been swooning over March, a stunning two piece.

The ensemble has a skirt that boasts intricate appliqués on luxurious organza, and it is paired with a versatile corset top. The top has exposed boning and a cropped finish, but the angles and detailing give it an almost architectural feel in its precision. This form fitting element is offset perfectly by the long, full skirt, with a semi high waist. It features all-over floral and botanical appliqués, offering a stunning effect – the bold size and placement really elevates the look.

The change in volume and textures give this outfit such a contemporary feel; it’s on point fashion wise, yet still manages to fit the brief for those wanting a style that won’t date.
