From sheer moments to modern elegance, the 2026 Golden Globes looks echoed the very styles that brides are embracing.

As the awards season kicked off at the 2026 Golden Globes, the talent delivered looks that felt unexpectedly bridal. From sheer moments, to classic white elegance, dramatic ruffles and timeless lace, many of the evening’s favourite styles mirrored trends that are prominent in bridal fashion today.

Sheer: Illusion Paired With Romance and Artistry

Sheer dressing took centre stage at the event, offering a balance of sensuality and softness. One of the evening’s most talked about looks was delivered by Jennifer Lawrence, styling a custom sheer tulle gown by Givenchy, embroidered with delicate floral appliqués. Whilst undeniably daring, the look felt romantic and surprisingly bridal, as the florals softened the transparency and retained elegance.

Lisa from BLACKPINK pop group took a more dramatic approach in a sheer black gown with long, flowing sleeves. The black fabric layer over a bandeau and floor-length skirt created depth and dimension, whilst the sleeves introduced movement, giving the look a more ethereal feel. Though styled in black, the silhouette itself speaks directly to brides.

Meanwhile Justine Lupe offered a more gentle interpretation of the ’naked dress’ trend in a nude-tone Giorgio Armani gown. Featuring spaghetti straps, a tiered floor-skimming skirt and delicate crystal embellishments, the look felt equally ethereal and glamorous.

The prevalence of sheer dresses at the Golden Globes this year speaks volumes to a wider shift in bridal fashion. Sheer fabrics are no longer simply transparent - they are embroidered, tiered and embellished to elevate the silhouette without compromising romance or artistry. Florals, crystals and texture provide coverage, whilst creating a look that feels modern and deeply feminine.

All White Elegance: Modern Minimalism Meets Bridal Fashion

Unsurprisingly, all white and cream looks proved that sometimes less is more, as these clean, minimalist gowns spoke for themselves.

Emily Blunt’s custom all white Louis Vuitton ensemble blended tailored precision with high-fashion. Featuring a streamlined column skirt and structured cape-like bodice, the look was elevated with gleaming crystal buttons for a final touch of drama. The clean lines and architectural silhouette felt unmistakably bridal, reflecting the modern minimalism that contemporary brides are seeking.

Pamela Anderson reinforced the notion that simplicity can be the ultimate statement. Her all white Ferragamo ensemble paired a long-sleeved blouse with a structured collar and a floor-skimming skirt. The muted, tailored look aligned perfectly with the growing bridal appetite for effortless elegance and fashion-forward styles.

Arriving in classic bridal fashion, Brittany Snow wore an off-white strapless gown with a crinkled organza overlay and fluid skirt. Minimalist yet striking, the dress felt timeless and romantic, allowing texture and movement to be the star of the show.

White is seen prominently in bridal fashion, but its expression continues to evolve, as the modern bride is seeking drama in texture and detailing.

Ruffles: Texture, Volume and Expression

Ruffles turned heads on the red-carpet last Sunday, evoking drama and expression from purely texture.

Parker Posey’s custom gold silk taffeta gown embraced generous ruffles and volume. The ruffles wrapped around the bodice and skirt to create a theatrical silhouette rich in movement and dimension. Whilst the look was reminiscent of Victorian-inspired ballgowns, it felt modern and contemporary, speaking to a new wave of fashion-forward brides.

Miley Cyrus delivered a sleeker take on texture, as her gown featured sculpted, pleated accents at the shoulders, creating a ruffle-like effect. The layered construction felt bold and expressive, allowing Cyrus to express her personal style, something that is sought after by brides when searching for their wedding day gowns.

These looks signal a movement where drama is no longer driven solely by colour or embellishment, but by texture and architecture. Ruffles and sculptural pleating offer brides new ways to express their personality and style, allowing for individuality.

Lace: A Bridal Favourite

The bridal staple has once again demonstrated its versatility on the red-carpet.

Zoe Kravitz wore a Saint Laurent slip dress, detailed with cream floral lace at the bodice and hem, offset by pastel-green straps and a butter-yellow belt. The lingerie-inspired aesthetic leaned into the softness and femininity of bridal fashion, creating a sense of understated romance that felt intimate and modern.

Meanwhile, Sarah Snook showcased lace in a more dramatic form. Her all-over black lace gown featured intricate craftsmanship layered over nude fabric, allowing the lace to remain the focal point, whilst the sleek, form-fitting silhouette maintained the look’s polished and refined finish.

Lace continues to be a staple in bridal fashion because of its versatility and ability to balance tradition with modernity. Whether delicate and romantic or bold and architectural, lace offers texture, depth and emotion.

The 2026 Golden Globes  was a prime example that bridal inspiration is everywhere, especially on the red carpet. From sheers and classic whites to expressive ruffles and delicate lace, these trends reflect what brides are seeking today.
