Provisionally titled ‘The Wedding Shop’, Channel 4 have commissioned independent production company Nineteen11 to produce a 25 x 30’ series following Ian Stuart and the visitors to his boutique.
The show will centre around his opulent 18th century bridal boutique, where the champagne is always flowing and countless brides flock to find the exquisitely designed dresses of their dreams.
You’ll get to see the inner workings of Ian Stuart’s Blewcoat boutique, which is frequented by socialites and celebrities, all after one of his iconic and exclusive creations. Viewers will get a glimpse into Ian’s glamorous world, including the process behind his flamboyant designs.
High society brides will be filmed visiting the shop, and each will bring with them their own expectant and opinionated entourage. Ian will be interacting with his clientele alongside his team, consisting of style advisor Charlotte, trainer dresser Craig and the lederhosen-clad celebrity florist Jens.
Lee McMurray, Commissioning Editor, Formats, said: "This series will be a fantastic treat for Channel 4 viewers who’ll get to enjoy all the glamour and opulence of high-end fashion, share the tears and tantrums of brides picking out the perfect wedding dress, and spend time in the hugely enjoyable company of the eccentric, entertaining cast of characters who man the floor in the boutique."
Brian Hayes, joint CEO, Nineteen11 said, “We look forward to bringing these fantastic characters to a wider audience in a fun and visually stunning way. This series will be a unique look at the wonderful world that Ian Stuart and his team inhabit. Viewers will be treated to a peek behind the curtain of couture, and we’re sure they’ll love what they see, and have a few laughs along the way.”
