Ian Stuart, the great British designer behind the Ian Stuart Bride and Occasionwear label sadly died on Tuesday, 18th October with his beloved husband Pete by his side.

Ian was a much loved figure in the bridal industry working from a young age as a designer for some key manufacturers rising to fame with his collection for Sincerity. His illustrious career took him into the US as a trailblazer for British bridal fashion and claiming award winning international recognition

After launching his own label Ian received numerous accolades including many Bridal Buyer Awards for his skills in designing and for the fabulous interiors of Bluecoats his flagship store in London.

Ian was known for his signature look and creative flair which led the industry into a new era of bridal fashion. He was passionate about supporting the future of bridal fashion through his sponsorship of the Student Designer of the Year Award for many years, and worked with some of the winners to support their future careers.
