USER JOURNEY AUDIT

When was the last time you pretended to be a bride and travelled through your digital footprint to review how you would find the experience. Here are the steps to conduct your audit and what to think about as you’re going through the user journey.

1- Chose one of your social media channels (we’ll use Instagram as the example here). Lots of your brides will look at your social media as their starting point. You need to look at yours and think to yourself, am I representing my brand well here? Do my visuals match speak to my ideal bride? Is the content on here aspirational/information/entertaining?

2- Then head to your bio. Does this give your audience a good overview of who you are/where you’re located and does it have a call to action for them to continue on their journey?

3- Does the link in your bio give your bride options? They might not be ready to book yet, so give them options to explore more. You want to move them from your social media to your website. You also need to ensure that your link in bio landing page is in your branding

4- Now take a look at your website. Firstly, is it optimised for mobile? Make sure nothing is cut off and that the pages are responsive.

5-  Also take note of your branding, does it seamlessly flow from your social media accounts? Think colours, fonts, imagery & tone of voice. Having brand consistency builds trust and keeps your audience focused.

6- Next look at the navigation, do you have enough on your website to hook the bride? She might be ready to book, great! Is it clear where to click to do this? And if she isn’t think about what information she might be looking for? It might be your location, your designers, the price point, size range. Make all that information clear.

7- Now head to your booking page. Try to clear your head and think as a bride. Is this clear? Do we have too many options? Does she know what she is getting from your appointment?

8- Finally take it offline. Once you’ve reviewed the digital journey. Look in-store, does it feel like the same experience in-store as it does online? Are they going to feel instantly comfortable, because they remember the branding & feeling they got when they interacted with your business online.

Sometimes we’re all so busy working IN our business, that we don’t take time to work ON our business. Give yourself time to take a step back and look at how you can improve your bride’s experience from the very first touchpoint, through to the last time she interacts with your boutique.
