Ella O’Keefe from EOK Studios with May’s edition of your Monthly Marketing Must dos. This month covers a new app from Meta, how to use your real brides and the power of email marketing.
Instagram released their very own editing app last month to help streamline content creating.
Some of you may be using CapCut (which is the TikTok equivalent), which means you’ll know that it’s how you get the cool features & trending concepts for your social media.
If you’re currently editing your videos within the Instagram app, I’d encourage you to trail using Edits to create your Instagram content this month
Some key features include:
- Ideas: Save concepts you like, so they are all in one place for when you’re ready to create a version for the bridal niche
- Camera: You’ll get enhanced video quality when you capture content within Edits
- Green Screen: It’s easier than ever to build your personal brand (without your face taking up the whole screen, which can be intimating). Add yourself on top of your videos chatting about your dresses, boutique experience or real bride.
- Timeline: A more precise editing tool
- Fonts & Animations: New fonts and cool ways to manipulate them to make your content more exciting
REMINDER: Do not edit your content in one platform and share the same video on another. Instagram and TikTok algorithms like different content types, and you won’t be rewarded by the algorithm if you’re sharing content across platforms.
However, this doesn’t mean you can’t take the same concept and run it on both channels, you just need to be clever in how you do it.
I cover how to do this in my Monthly Marketing Mentorship, so if you’re struggling with how to create content for both channels, drop me a message on Instagram (@eokstudios) and we can have a chat
As we head into wedding season, it’s more important than ever to have a process in place to get UGC (User Generated Content). Consumers will trust other users much more than a business, which is why UGC is so popular right now.
Whilst we can’t use it in the same way as many companies, we can ensure that we’re showcasing our real brides in our content.
Think about how you can obtain access to video content, as reels/TikTok are key for growth.
Are there any local wedding content creators you could partner up with to make sure you’re receiving video content of your brides?
Make sure you have a system to collate real bride testimonials (try asking for a voicenote, people can sometimes feel more comfortable chatting about their experience, rather than writing it down).
In your social media planner, try to include 2 – 3 real bride posts each month to really showcase your products in a setting a bride can relate to.
We have to find a way to cut through the noise and people’s short attention spans.
One way to do this is to ensure you have direct access to your audience. Whilst social media is great, it can feel like casting a net wide (with all the bait you’ve got), and hoping for the best.
That’s where email marketing comes into play. When you send your customer an email, you know it is landing in their inbox, and it has the added benefit of personalisation.
I would suggest running a monthly newsletter, which gives round up of the month, including some of your favourite dresses, any upcoming events, new designer news and any other interesting updates from your business. In order to make this work, you’ll need to promote the newsletter on your social media & on your website.
Plan in to do a ‘Did you know we have a newsletter’ or ‘Sign up for exclusive access’ type post a few times each month to encourage sign ups. And ask your web team to add a pop up or somewhere on your website that they can sign up.
Today’s consumer expect some form of value exchange for giving away their data, so think of an incentive for your bride that you’re happy with and include that when you talk about signing up.
If you’re interested in email marketing, but not sure where to start, drop me a message and I can give you a few more helpful tips on getting started.
