Since the first eco-friendly bridal collection in 2011, Sanyukta Shrestha has pioneered the concept of sustainable luxury, even when sustainability was an unknown word for mass media and average consumers. After launching her first-ever collection at White Gallery back in 2012 the designer has gone from strength to strength, making her innovative brand known in the bridal industry.
The philosophy of the brand reflects the designer as a person - a creative mind that fights for ethical workforce and the environment by representing a sustainable choice for brides, and a business that leads by example by giving back to the community and supporting women empowerment. Her innovation has inspired women globally and has attracted brides to her boutique from all over the world.
The luxury of the eco-fabrics, exquisite designs and Nepalese craftsmanship have fuelled a positive change in the bridal world. Sanyukta says, “The environment and the future of our planet is very important and I want people to be aware that luxury and sustainability aren’t two separate industries.”

Recognised by the media, Sanyukta’s work has been featured in leading international magazine titles and bridal media platforms. She has also been honoured with several national & international awards for graceful creations and innovative approach of empowering women in developing countries.
Alongside this, her evening wear has been worn by several celebrities including Victoria’s Secret supermodel Candice Swanepoel, American girl band Fifth Harmony, Soprano’s Natalie Coyle and Laura Wright, as well as actresses Amy Wren, Jasmine Armfield, Raquel Cassidy and Amy Nuttall, to name a few
However, more recently her designs have been nominated for ‘The Best Innovation Award’ at the ‘UK Wedding Awards 2020’. Among the eight nominees, Shrestha is the one and only bridal designer shortlisted.
The pioneering designer believes this award recognition will not be just the success of her brand, but it will also encourage many fashion designers to take sustainable steps and inspire them to change the global fashion scene with their responsible positive input.
Sanyukta adds “Sadly, fashion is the second most polluting industry in the World, CO2 is the highest it has been in millions of years and there are serious problems ahead for future generations. As a designer, I feel we have much more responsibility than just creating beautiful designs and building a mass following. There is no Planet B. We must protect our habitat whichever way possible.”
“I believe the fashion industry has so many talented and creative people and it is the responsibility of each and every one of us to raise awareness and shape our industry with a mindful business approach. I feel very honoured that this award recognition will be a stepping stone towards our vision of sustainable fashion being the future and I am very glad to say the bridal world has started recognising the effort and the urgency of sustainability.”
Sanyukta‘s flagship store ‘Behuli by Sanyukta Shrestha’ in Fulham, has become the go-to destination for international brides, dreaming of the perfect eco-friendly wedding. The creative studio of the brand is located in the wilderness of Lincolnshire Wolds.
