Bridal stockists are being targeted with fake letters claiming to be from The Perfect Bridal Company. Here’s what the brand wants the industry to know
Following reports of fraudulent mailings being sent to bridal retailers, The Perfect Bridal Company has shared an urgent statement with the industry. The company is keen to clarify the situation, reassure stockists of its ongoing commitment to them, and call for vigilance as investigations continue. Below, we publish their statement in full:
It has come to our attention that there have been some malicious mailings being sent to our stockist via post from someone impersonating ourselves. Letters we have seen copies of so far appear to use our company logo and imply that we have opened an e-commerce website selling our products directly to the public. As you will know, it has always been our stance that we do not sell our current lines directly to the public, and rest assured that this has not changed. Furthermore, there are no plans in the future to change this either. We firmly believe in selling our products through you, our stockists, as you are best equipped to give brides the best service possible.
Regrettably this is a malicious attempt to undermine our business, and that of some of our stockists. The examples of letters we have seen are 100% fraudulent and have not been sent from ourselves. Thankfully, some of our fantastic stockists who have received these letters have contacted us immediately, knowing full well that the letter is fraudulent – some pointing out that ‘we knew it wasn’t from you - its really not up to your usual marketing standards!’
Sometimes it’s a very sad world that we live in where people feel it necessary to try to knock down other people through jealousy and greed. The effects are of course not just on our business and reputation, but also on our fantastic staff, who work so hard to deliver the best product and service to our stockists every day.
Unfortunately, we are not the first business in our industry to fall victim to such attacks, and no doubt we will not be the last.
If you have received any of these letters, and if you do have any clues as to the origin of them, please do let us know so we can pass the information to Police who are investigating these fraudulent acts. If you are able to send us any letters you have received, we have been advised that this may help with the investigation.
In the meantime, its business as usual here at The Perfect Bridal Company, and we are extremely excited to see you all in Harrogate later this month – as you will have seen from our legitimate marketing emails, and speaking to our fantastic team, we have some very exciting new products to show you!
Thank you, as always, for your amazing support!
