THIS IS A SPONSORED ADVERTORIAL
Ahead of Bridal Week, we sit down with Justin Warshaw of Justin Alexander to discover the design process and the biggest trends he expects to see this year.
This piece is part of a sponsored advertorial with Bridal Buyer.
At Justin Alexander, we have a full team of talented, experienced designers who are located across the globe and gain inspiration from their regional settings, travel, artwork, the red carpet and vintage couture fashion. The team, lead by me, design styles with classic features that brides know and love and styles with new trends to continue to drive innovation in the industry.
My team and I get inspired by the world around us –there is no better way to describe our process. Our Fall/Winter 2023 collections had multiple points of inspiration, each appropriate to the identity of the brand.
Justin Alexander Fall/Winter 2023 was inspired by the natural beauty of the changing seasons, the collection celebrates new chapters, like the one brides are about to embark on as they wed their partner.
The Justin Alexander Signature Fall/Winter 2023 collection, Garden of Love, draws inspiration from Italian Renaissance gardens. Known for their beauty, these gardens exude romance, sophistication, and attention to detail, in the same way our new collection was crafted.
The Adore by Justin Alexander Fall/Winter 2023 collection, Sweet Rebels, reflects a duality of sophisticated yet youthful designs. The collection was inspired by the very women that will wear it; the rebellious and uncomplicated souls of this brand-new generation of brides-to-be.
The Lillian West Fall/Winter 2023 collection, Lackawanna, is inspired by my grandparents, Lillian and Gerald, and the place that holds memory of their story. From fast paced waterfalls to warm days filled with the beauty of an untouched forest. Lackawanna gives you bold laces, effervescent sparkle, and pure comfort.
Our Sincerity Fall/Winter 2023 collection was inspired by the rose. The rose is universally known for its romance and passion, much like this collection. With luxurious florals and ever-lasting classics that exude ethereal romance, these bridal gowns envelop you in their beauty.
My favourite style from this season is Style Grove (88321). It is a clean wedding dress with crepe bodice, satin skirt, and a very intricate scoop neckline with draped fabric. It truly showcases bridal fashion design with a focus on structure and crafting details.
My favorite fabrics right now are Crepe and Mikado. Both fabrics are typically seen in ‘clean’ dresses that focus on silhouette and structure as their ‘wow’ element rather than embroidery and lace. The minimalism of such fabrics allows for the dresses to be the bride’s blank canvas –an opportunity to create her own personal masterpiece.
Over the last couple of years, we have seen a buying trend as much as a fashion trend in more minimal and ‘informal’ bridal looks. Brands such as Adore by Justin Alexander tend to be favoured by this new generation of brides; contemporary feminine, youthful, and yet sophisticated. At the same time, one can never forget that bridal fashion is very personal to the individual, making it harder to spot or favour trends. Lace, embroidering, beading, and opulent silhouettes, they are timeless staples of bridal fashion that won’t easily go away.
- Less is More: Embrace minimalist and modern wedding dresses where the dress is the canvas, and the bride is the masterpiece.
- Innovative Classics: Classic wedding dresses with exciting new lace designs and unique surface details are sure to make a statement.
- Feminine Touches: Fall in love all over again with romantic wedding dresses that emphasize and enhance the beauty of your silhouette.
- Radiant Craftmanship: An impressive shimmering showcase of hand-beaded fabrics, decorative lace layers and risqué necklines.
From our FW23 collections and onward all ‘nude’ / illusion tulles and bust cups will be offered in 3 different colourways: our current standard colour, LATTE, a medium colour, CARAMEL, and the darkest colour, MOCHA. The CARAMEL and MOCHA colours are offered as a custom order, free of charge to the store.
We’re excited to announce that we will be present at all the European shows. We will be attending Bridal Week London this March, and Harrogate in September on Stand B61. You can register here today and make sure to pop by our stand!
