What do you consider to be signature design elements of the brand?

Ornate hand embroidery, custom jacquard fabrics inspired by boiserie, and decor found in European royal residences. Classic silhouettes with a particular focus placed on corseted waists atop grand ballgown skirts.

Can you tell us some interesting facts about the brand?

  1. We work directly with Italian fabric houses to design and produce our jacquard fabrics, from initial sketching and selection of artwork, through to yarn, colour, and weave choices, and final production.
  2. Everything is manufactured at our atelier in Aberdeen, Scotland, roughly 30 minutes from Royal Deeside and the Balmoral Estate.
  3. One of our signature colour combinations is an optic white base ground woven with iridescent blue pearl lurex, adding both sparkle and that ’something blue!’
  4. The brand is named after the Ancient Greek and Roman goddesses of love and beauty, perfect for a brand focused on romantic and fantasy-inspired pieces.

What inspired the current collection and what trends have emerged?

Our debut collection was inspired by legends of the birth of the Greek and Roman goddesses Aphrodite and Venus, who were said to have risen from the seafoam fully grown, and who came ashore upon a giant seashell. Trends include off-shoulder bodices and full ballgown skirt silhouettes, elaborate silk jacquard fabrics including cloqué, decoupé organza, and our favourite liquid look lurex base printed and frosted with pearlescent metallics. Embellishments are very much inspired by important jewellery pieces, which leads to trompe-l’oeil necklines and appliqués.

What kind of brides do you envisage wearing your pieces?

Our bride wants to make a head-turning and show-stopping entrance, to feel that collective intake of breath as she makes her way down the aisle, and to ensure her look is so beautiful it can’t be forgotten.

Why is White Gallery so important to you, and what are you most looking forward to about the show?

White Gallery is where we will show our debut bridal collection, so we are really looking forward to seeing how stores react.
