Bridal Buyer Q+A: True Bride is in the hot seat

In an exclusive interview with Georgia Flynn of True Bride, we delve into the fashion house’s exciting new collections. With four distinct lines – each offering its own unique blend of modern elegance and timeless charm – True Bride continues to captivate brides-to-be across the globe.

From the classic, romantic designs of their signature True Bride collection to the vintage-inspired flair of Nicki Flynn, the retro tea-length glamour of Brighton Belle, and the considered styles of True Curves, Georgia reveals how this season is all about ethereal lace, flowing chiffon, and statement ballgowns that exude both luxury and individuality. Find our more in our Q&A…

What are the key trends this season – what have you incorporated into your collection?

Brides are loving simpler, plain styles and we’ve added more of these to our collection this time, but have made sure to create interesting silhouettes and flattering cuts. We’ve got one shoulders, square necks, floaty chiffon sleeves, scooped necklines and low backs all at fantastic price points (starting from £315 wholesale). Bows are still beloved and we’ve added ‘tie it yourself bows’ to designs that can be worn on or off the shoulder (or both for two looks), satin belts to tie in a bow at the waist and more. It’s always fun taking an element of a trend and turning it into something more timeless.

What are some of the top qualities modern brides are looking for in their wedding attire?

Versatility! Brides are still loving detachable elements like sleeves, overskirts and jackets to create multiple looks with one dress (and even to give them some assurance with British weather lately). Next is luxurious fabrics. We’ve seen a real move back to satins and mikado recently; brides are wanting that real luxury feel to their dress and these fabrics add a richness and fullness to designs that they’re loving.

Also – soft, feminine details. Brides are loving these little touches on dresses that add a unique touch such as 3D organza flowers, hints of pink or gold metallic thread through laces, flutter sleeves and glitter tulle layers.

How do you see bridal evolving over the next year? Any predictions?

Lace is coming back! It’s such a fun design element to play with from finding the correct lace to compliment a design, selecting the placement and  layering it with different fabrics to create the perfect feel for a dress. We’ve got some gorgeous bohemian inspired floral laces on soft tulle dresses, glitzy sequin laces on a sultry crepe silhouette, 3D flower lace over an organza ballgown, detachable lace and tulle jackets and more. It adds such depth and versatility to a dress even when used in smaller elements that brides love.

We’re seeing a move away from pearl beading and back to silver details instead. Dresses like our Amara TC-W489 have used a contrast of soft cloudy chiffon with beaded silver elements for a style that feels fresh and different. Mallory W481 is a gorgeous combination of pearls and silver diamantés for the bride who wants the best of both.

And finally…  what’s one thing you want retailers to know about you?

From the very beginning, one of True Bride’s key ideologies has always been that ‘big isn’t always better’. With a core team of eight we are a close-knit group who all work alongside each other and our stockists to provide a personalised service with an unparalleled level of care delivered. We work so closely with our stockists to help provide the greatest level of support in all areas. When we say we’re always at the other end of the phone, even if it’s just for a chat, we truly mean it!
