Why did you decide to showcase the brand at this year’s Bridal Week Harrogate?

This summer, we appointed Bridal Crush as Sales Agent for the UK and Ireland and the show was a great platform to build and establish new collaborative retail relationships. Our attendance and the Bridal Crush appointment highlights our brand’s ambitions to continue the growth in 2023 and beyond and showcasing at Harrogate was an important part of this journey.

What is Love and Liberty’s signature style and unique selling point?

The Love and Liberty mission is to inspire confidence and spark creativity with innovation and creativity at the heart of each design. Our well-curated edit of responsibly produced modern classics, pair an elevated aesthetic with a strong sense of personality, that our brides truly fall in love with. Wedding gowns are meant to be personal, that’s why our dresses can be customised to ensure the chosen dress 100% matches the brides personality. Where do you look for creative inspiration, and how do you keep your designs fresh?

Celebrating the female form with a strong and sexy silhouette, Love and Liberty gowns keep all brides in mind when creating a new style. Evolving from brides and stockists’ feedback, we’re very reactive to trends and requests from brides that visit our London showroom. By adapting and reimagining our creations we ‘trial run’ our dresses, testing the suitability and reaction first hand with brides, before ever launching a collection. This allows us to present an edit to retailers that we know their brides will love. 

What is the brand’s great achievement to date?

We LOVE seeing our creations on brides and nothing beats having a peek at their amazing wedding pictures, seeing how they’ve interpreted a dress and made it their own, is pretty special! We have also been amazed at the speed we have grown this year, globally. Of course this wouldn’t of been achievable without collaborating with the wonderful Phillipa from Bridal Crush and our newly appointed US agency, Coterie. Achieving a growing global presence, is a pinch me moment and we are here and ready for the next chapter and all the new retail relationships we will create.

Tell us a bit about your top three bestsellers.

Our Imogen, Olivia and Aimee gowns are undoubtedly three of our most currently converted pieces - it certainly is love at first sight.

One of our stars of the season is Aimee—a gown that goes from modern minimalism to over-the-top beauty. Opening as a sleek, perfect-cut canvas, the dress is cut with sleeveless shoulders and a V-neckline and styled with princess seems and a high slit. 3-D petals encircle the waist and add enchantment to the nearly-bare back. But add on the fluttery sleeves and embroidered tulle train and the dress becomes fit for a boho fairy princess.  

With this dress you can achieve three different looks with just one dress. Crafted from white crepe sculpted in a soft trumpet silhouette, Imogen is the head turner!  A sheer, botanical leaf embroidered centre with corset boning sets this modern wedding dress apart. It’s also styled with a feminine and flirty, twisted off-the-shoulder collar and breath-taking detachable skirt that decorates the back of the gown in with bohemian-inspired satin-stitch leaves.

Made for our bohemian fashionistas, our Olivia wedding dress features a bright white slip topped in peek-a-boo mesh that converts spaghetti straps into removeable ruffle-cuff long sleeves and adds a filmy finish to a sexy leg slit. The Olivia wedding gown is sprinkled from top to toe in playful 3-D petals, symbolic of how you’ll be showered with love on your big day. A sheer, flower-strewn train completes the dreamy dress. 

What’s on the horizon for Love and Liberty?

We have big dreams for 2023, with achieving a huge global presence. After releasing our collection in 2022 we have welcomed an amazing response, we’re so grateful and appreciative of all the love we have received. So far, the Love and Liberty journey has been an exciting one, and we have many more adventures planned!

Why is Bridal Week so important to the brand?

It’s an important touch point in the bridal buying calendar. To showcase our main collection in front of the bridal stores we would love to work with, Bridal Week is a must. Not just to connect with the UK bridal market but also for Europe too.

What features/trends do you think will be a big hit with brides in 2023?

The brides love-affair with florals is not a ground-breaking revelation, nor will it be over any time soon. We have seen this trend become a staple feature within our designs, as our collections evolve from the feedback we receive from brides and stockists. We have made this season ‘It’ trend super stylish by opting for a strong silhouette crafted in crepe fabric, modernising florals by renewing classical styles and featuring 3D lace and applique elements, to create cool, contemporary bridal dresses.
