Clean lines, sleek  silhouettes and precise tailoring – Malina Bridal was a stand out label for Bridal Buyer at Bridal Week. Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, Malina embodies effortlessly cool Scandi vibes, perfect for brides looking for something fresh and chic.

On display at the show, Malina’s capsule collection comprises a carefully curated collection of pieces. There’s variety in lengths and detailing, with full length gowns and minis included, as well as variety of neckline and hemline details.

The label’s Amanda Mattisson tells us: “The dresses are classic and clean, yet modern with a twist – there is timeless elegance. The inspiration comes from wanting to create something for the bride who cherishes luxury in its most serene form.”

Malina Bridal: Style of the Week

There are a number of stand out styles in the small collection – the halter neck Angeline is almost goddess-like, and the Lilia mini with its oversize bow detail has real impact. However, our favourite gown from the collection is the Louise, which has a beautiful cut and drape. It feels refined and luxurious; the structural nature of the gown gives it a sense of beautiful fluidity.

“The Louise bridal gown has sculpted sleeves and fluid lines, a flattering silhouette with a figure-hugging skirt and the back has a beautiful draping and a flowy train,” explains Amanda.

The unadorned style is crafted from a buttery rich satin, crafted from recycled polyester – making this gown a mindful choice for brides, too.

The draped shoulders and open, draped back offer an unexpected pop of interest and texture. The almost pleated folds to the cape sleeves draw the eye to the meticulous detailing. “From a quite simple design, the neckline and cape add a bolder and tailored touch, transforming it into an interesting and unique piece,” says Amanda.

The seam detailing under the bust creates a stunning shape, too, and the skirt is cut on the bias, giving it a gorgeous drape, which flows smoothly to the train. This is a contemporary twist on that ever popular A-line silhouette.

“The Louise Bridal gown is created to seamlessly blend into any kind of wedding depending on how you chose to style it – with different accessories, makeup and hair,” says Amanda. “It is therefor suitable for many types of weddings and brides – they all are unique.”
