We caught up with the Simply Divine team to chat through their stellar pieces on the Bridal Week Harrogate runway, and find out how they keep their designs fresh year upon year.
When designing our prom dresses, we draw inspiration from a variety of sources. Firstly, we closely follow fashion trends and pay attention to what’s popular among our target audience. Additionally, we often look to nature, art, and culture for inspiration.
Seeing our designs come to life on the catwalk is an exhilarating experience. It’s the culmination of months of hard work and creativity. There’s a sense of pride and satisfaction in watching models showcase our creations, and it allows us to gauge how well our designs resonate with the audience.
The design process for each collection typically begins with research and concept development. We brainstorm ideas, create mood boards, and sketch initial designs. From there, we select fabrics and materials, create prototypes, and refine the designs based on feedback and testing. Once we’re satisfied, we move into production and prepare for fashion shows and marketing campaigns.
Our choice of fabrics and materials varies depending on the collection’s theme and desired aesthetic. Common materials for prom dresses include satin, tulle, lace, and sequins. We also pay attention to comfort and ease of wear to ensure that our dresses not only look stunning but also feel comfortable for the wearers.
To keep our designs fresh, we stay attuned to evolving fashion trends and continuously innovate. We often seek feedback from our customers and pay attention to what they’re looking for in prom dresses. We also focus on incorporating unique design elements, colour palettes, and details to set our collections apart from others.
While Bridal Week Fashion Shows primarily showcase wedding attire, participating in such events can be beneficial for prom dress designers as well. These shows attract a wide audience, including brides-to-be and their friends, who are often also in the market for prom dresses. It’s a valuable platform to showcase our designs and expand our customer base.
In 2024, Hollywood glamour is back in style for wedding dresses. Think Old Hollywood-inspired designs with plunging necklines, off-shoulder sleeves, and figure-hugging silhouettes, as well as sheath dresses and satin gowns exuding timeless elegance and sophistication.
The star of our show was undoubtedly our stunning butterfly dress SD550. This strapless masterpiece features a corset top and a lace-up back, all elegantly flowing in silhouette. Its captivating shimmer, courtesy of the glitter embellishments, ensured it turned heads at formal events. The charming butterfly motifs added a touch of elegance and glamour, creating an unforgettable look that stole the spotlight.
