Key marketing metrics you should be focusing on:
Social media: Views / Engagement / Actions
Website: Page views / Bounce rate
Email: Open rate / Click through rate
Set up a simple spreadsheet with each platform you use and their key metrics, then record your current stats. If you can, set a reminder each month to record the stats from that month and by the end of the year, you’ll have a fantastic idea of what’s working (OR NOT) and what areas to focus on.
Check the weather forecast and plan to shoot your content on these days.
Natural light is so important and in January, there’s not much of it, so we’ve got to take the small wins where we can.
And whilst the weather can change, having these dates set as filming days will make sure you’re prepared to film and even if it’s not the sunny day you’d hoped for, you can use your content light and film anyway.
There are a lot of new brides in January, so make sure you’re focusing on giving them advice and making them feel excited about this new era. Content ideas could include – when to buy your wedding dress / 3 [insert dress style] looks / Re-introduce yourself & your boutique
Watch time and shareable content is key at the start of 2025, so aim to create content that ticks these boxes.
This is better than a resolution (which if/when you break, you’ll then feel like you’ve failed, and you’ll put that idea to bed and not achieve it). Instead, choose a word that is going to lead you through the year. Something to consistently come back to, for motivation & guidance.
Mine is FOCUS. I’m focusing on how to make my business better. Focusing on finding joy in the every day and focusing on how to be intentional with my decision making to ensure every step I take is leading me to where I ultimately want to end up.
