Taffeta and Lace celebrate 40 Years

Jill, the heart and owner of Taffeta & Lace, started her journey when a close friend asked her to make a wedding dress. Word spread quickly, and soon more brides were turning to Jill for their special day. Over four decades, the boutique has watched brides become mothers, and even grandmothers, of the bride. From prom girls growing into brides to generations returning for new celebrations, Taffeta & Lace has been part of countless cherished stories.

Bridal Week Harrogate

September saw Bridal Week Harrogate take centre stage, showcasing the latest bridal collections and trends for 2026. From runway debuts to private previews, boutique owners had the chance to see new designers, network with suppliers and get ahead on next season’s best bits. We spotted heaps of Grecian-style draping, bubble hems, monochrome accents and more - check out our full run-down here.

Looking back at Audrey Hepburn’s wedding dress

On September 25, 1954, Audrey Hepburn and Mel Ferrer exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony in Bürgenstock, Switzerland. Ferrer kept to a classic black tuxedo, while Hepburn chose a tea-length gown that continues to inspire brides decades later.

In letters later auctioned in 2016, Hepburn revealed the effort she went to in order to keep the wedding hidden from the press. The gown itself became iconic: a flared skirt, puffed sleeves, high collar, and a satin sash tied into an oversized bow at the back - a look as timeless as the star herself.

Danielle Frankel

Model Abby Champion married actor Patrick Schwarzenegger on September 6th, in a lakeside Idaho ceremony, wearing not one, but two custom Danielle Frankel gowns. The first, a high-neck silk-wool masterpiece with a hand-painted overskirt, wowed at the ceremony. For the reception, Abby changed into a playful floral organza gown with pearl trim, ballet flats and a matching neck scarf.
