Sister to the Tania Olsen brand, we meet this fresh and stylish new Australian bridal label and take a closer look at a super-pretty pearl embellished gown
If there is one thing that UK brides are loving right now, it’s the trends from Australian bridal labels. The fresh vibe they offer has really captured the hearts of those shopping for contemporary, well-cut and effortlessly chic dresses. So, when we heard there was a new name about to hit our shores from down under, we were eager to discover more.
Enter stage Maya Bella, the new sister label to Tania Olsen, which launched this year. The label was created to offer modern and luxurious wedding dresses to brides in an attainable and inclusive way.
The partnership with Tania Olsen means that Maya Bella inherits two decades of expertise in the industry. Plus, Maya Bella has the design finesse of Tania herself, whose passion for the artistry of fabric and embellishments drives every creation. For Maya Bella, Tania draws inspiration from the timeless techniques of vintage garment construction, and infuses each gown with sophistication and grace.
The Australian-designed brand has set the goal of crafting exquisite gowns that cater to every bride, offering inclusive sizing from size 4 to 40. And this has been carefully thought out – at the heart of Maya Bella’s construction process is precision boning, thoughtfully integrated bra cups, and intricate fusing techniques, ensuring a flawless fit that embraces the diverse forms of modern brides.
The brand’s debut collection, Lueur, offers 15 luxurious styles that embody the essence of luminescence. The styles were inspired by the interplay of light and shadow, which is reflected in the intricate bead and crystal work of the gowns, as well as the fabric selection. From delicate lace to luxe Mikado, the materials were carefully chosen to enhance the luminous quality of each gown. The brand tells us: “Fabric choice is a cornerstone of the design process at Maya Bella Bridal, playing a crucial role in bringing our vision to life. Each fabric is selected with the utmost care, ensuring it complements the design and enhances the overall aesthetic of the gown.”
This week, the style that we have fallen in love with is Enya – the silhouette feels romantic and timeless, and the detailing means it has a really luxurious finish. Of course, it also taps into one of our all time favourite bridal trends – pearls. The bodice and straps are completely embellished with a decadent mix of pearls and crystals, which cascade down the skirt like a flurry of the most beautiful snowflakes. This gives the gown an incurable texture and depth of interest; it also lets light reflect from the style in a magical way.
Added to this, we adore the many details that make this dress so intriguing. The bodice features a pretty sweetheart neckline, while the exposed boning and spaghetti straps add a touch of modern flair. The A-line style is packed with volume in the skirt, which features layers of sparkle and plain tulle finishing in a chapel length train.
Maya Bella will be on show at Bridal Week Harrogate this September, and will have a brand new collection to display – Etoile. The label’s new dresses are a real mix of old world charm and modern elegance, they tells us: “Each Maya Bella creation elegantly merges the past and present, offering brides a timeless allure that embodies the essence of everlasting love. This ensures that every bride exudes her inner goddess on her special day.” Look out for the corsetry techniques, enhanced by soft tulles and, of course, that intricate beading.
