Tell us about the brand’s history, and why you decided to enter the bridal industry.

I trained at Central St. Martins in womenswear. After university, I went to work for Alexander McQueen and in 2006 set up a women’s casual label with my sister, Sienna, called twenty8twelve. I loved the process of my own wedding dress being made and bridal design just felt like a natural progression from there for me. The brand started in 2015 when I was approached by a New York based boutique to guest design a collection for them. I loved the process and it was a big success, so I decided to develop my own collection. Here we are, 6 years later and I’m loving it more than ever!

What is Savannah Miller’s signature style, and what makes you stand out?

My signature style is understated, effortless elegance with special modern details that feel unique and contemporary.

What is the brand’s greatest achievement, and top secrets to success?

The brand’s greatest achievement is that we are continuing to grow steadily, and our commitment to our customers is the secret to our success. I am actively involved in communicating with brides and stores, and I love the intimate connection that gives me to them. We dressed the stunning actress Clara Paget in a bespoke gown for her wedding last year and this year have two more celebrity brides in September so watch this space!

What inspired the current collection?

The collection was designed and created during the lockdown, when I had much more time to really think about my brides and deeply connect with their needs. Starting there, I delved into the archives of historic fashion references from ‘90’s Galliano effortlessness to the structure and strictness of 19th century construction. Mix in a little bit of Ginger Rogers seductive nonchalance with draping and detail, and the collection feels fresh and exciting but very synonymous with our brand.

What design trends have emerged from the collection?

I wanted to explore romantic silhouettes and fabric combinations whilst continuing to develop my exploration of the subtle sensuality of my designs. I love the combination of matte and shine, and the juxtaposition of texture to elevate simplicity. We have also introduced an incredible stretch silk jersey this season for a bandage crepe gown that is knock out!

Can you tell us five interesting facts about the brand?

1. The brand was started from my kitchen table as a small collaboration with a friend.
2. We have a huge vintage archive that we always look to for special design details that make our pieces unique.
3. Most of our fabrics come from Italy so they are very luxurious and feel incredibly sensual on the skin.
4. We have started offering bespoke gowns this year for brides who crave a gown designed uniquely for them.
5. We are part of the Justin Alexander Luxury group with Viktor&Rolf and Justin Alexander Signature

What’s next for the brand?

We are continuing to expand our stockists internationally and excited to be bringing a new collection to market in spring in person after two years of virtual bridal markets. We have recently taken on a bespoke team so that we are able to work one-to-one on special projects with brides.

Why is White Gallery so important to you, and what can we expect to see from Savannah Miller?

Newness! My brand has really evolved over the past two years, and I am really looking forward to sharing it again with my retailers. I am just so looking forward to seeing my customers in person again and being able to show them my gowns on models. My dresses come to life when they are worn and in person, boutiques can really see and feel how we go the extra mile to bring them exquisite fabrics and craftsmanship.
