2024 is definitely the year of the bridal mini dress. This season we’ve seen some gorgeous examples of mini styles with maximum impact – volume, bold details, unique embellishments and depth of texture. Our latest Style of the Week embodies all of these elements – Viva by Dama Couture is a truly captivating style that is packed with elegance and allure.

“Viva is a part of the Caltigarone collection, which is inspired by the cities of Sicily, where the past and modern worlds blend together in a unique fashion,” says Dama Couture’s Adrian Latoszek. He explains to us that, central to the collection are the influences of maiolica ceramics – vivid, story-painted wares that have been integral to Sicilian art for centuries. This interplay of past and present infuses the collection with depth, interest and artistry.

Mini Wedding Dresses, Maximum Detail

Sexy, glamorous and chic, the Viva dress has the perfect combination of texture and detail. “The dress is made from natural-sourced lining and lace with delicate feathers, which are hand-sewn on the lace on the horizontal, so they move with every movement of the bride,” says Adrian. The way the feathers cascade across the fabric means they sway gently, creating a mesmerising effect that offers a depth of texture that elevates the dress’s aesthetic to another level.

Adrian tells us that Viva was designed to be worn as a second dress; perfect for brides looking to make a statement on the evening of their wedding. The length adds a playful yet sophisticated twist, ideal for transitioning from the formal ceremony. The sleek silhouette is ultra flattering, and the deep slashed neckline adds a sexy edge.

Style of the Week: Favourite Features

One of the most striking features of the Viva Dress is its versatility. “The style consist of two parts – the dress, and bolero with sleeves, which are fixed on the choker for an even spicier look,” says Adrian. “The dress can have two different natures – sexy and romantic without the bolero, or a fashion oriented one with the bolero, depending on how the bride feels.”

Bridal Buyer’s favourite element is the bolero, which we feel adds a bold, edgy twist to the overall look. From Adrian’s point of view, he feels brides will also adore the movement of the feathers. “Brides will love the double nature of the dress, and the feathers that move slightly with every step, giving a light and ethereal silhouette.” The playfulness of the feathers, combined with the sophistication of the silhouette, strikes the perfect balance between fun and elegance.

The Viva dress is perfectly suited for weddings steeped in luxury and elegance, in fact, Adrian tells us it was partly inspired with that refined, ‘old money’ vibe in mind. We can imagine this dress being worn in a variety of settings, but it would sit perfectly with the backdrop of a grand historical venue. It’s a drama filled dress that will turn heads in all the right ways.
